under 15k...? Off the top I'll say maybe...

-Nissan 300ZX
-Mazdaspeed Protege
-Scion TC (if you don't mind some people say it looking like a "chick" car)
-Bug Eye WRX's
-Last Gen MR2

Where are you guys finding all these old S2K's, and NA Supras for under 15? I did find a silver T/C 05 Lancer Ralliart with Carbon Fiber Hood for 11 at a So-Cal dealer.

Really. Parts are available for the MS3. They really don't cost anymore than parts for other cars.

I dont understand why you wouldnt want an srt-4...

worried about haters?

I don't see any other reason because it's a pretty sick car and for the money and how new it still is NOTHING beats it.. I don't care what anyone says.

a car for 15g that can trap 100+ mph bone stock that can be about only 3 years old with low miles... how can u say no to that? Unless, it's the hater thing.

It's not a hater thing. At least with me it isn't. Most likely it is trying to find one that wasn't flogged to death by some idiot as it would be for any of the cars mentioned in this thread. Personally, the last generation SRT-4 would be a good choice.

I liked my srt a lot... they mod great and can do some pretty fancy stuff. One of the top cars in the scca has been the neon for YEARS.

Last thing on my mind was image but to some people that seems a little too important.

Even though you don't want it... my reccomendation is an SRT-4

I've driven a few and yea they are a good package... They just felt really really cheap to me for some reason. I also have a friend had an 03 and when he hit about 50,000 miles he had so many problems with the car...

I'll do some more research on them though...

I noticed the SRT-4 is either make it or break it here, maybe it's the whole 'Domestic trying to be an import' tag?

Just curious, what do you guys think about Cobalt SSs? (under 15k of course to stay ON TOPIC)

^ That's another car I was looking at... I like the cobalt ss super charged... My friend had one and let me borrow it for a day. I like the styling of it and the sound/feel of the engine... The interior is far nicer than my lancer and it was roomy for a 2dr...

Def the SRT-4 (last gen) if you want bang for buck. After that I'd probably have to say S2k. And yes the trannies on the wrx are made of glass. Both my bros have one. One broke his bone stock lol. The other swapped his for the JDM STi 6 sp. before it had a chance to go. Of course these were the 03 bugeyes, don't know if they've made any changes to them since then. And subaru was very quick to warranty the broken one, and put a fresh tranny in. Well, hope that helps.

I almost bought a Cobalt (I'm happy I didn't though) since at that time they were offering great financing rates and I could get a pretty good discount through my brother in-law as well as cheap maintenace. I agree that as far as bang for the buck goes, the SRT-4 wins. It's not pretty, it's not nice on the inside but it goes like stink and can be modded easily. The 02-03 WRX was known for tranny problems but that's been more or less solved now. Yes there are people who say the trannies suck but no matter what car you're talking about, there's someone who's broken something on it and now thinks their crap. Hell some people think evos are crap yet when you read into it you find that they're launching at every light, pulling the e-brake on tarmac and generally driving like an idiot.

Well he said can't be older than 2001. So rule out the N/A Supra.

However, N/A supras go for around <15 because of the mileage.

S2K's...I find them all the time under 16 with under 50K miles...

legit..

I just bought a 05 Redline (Saturn version) same powertrain to replace my 04 Ralli, it is nice.... and GM UNDERRATED these engines.. supposed to be 205 at the crank and it is VERY common to see stock dyno numbers between 210 and 220....
