I love this car. Not sure that the 179 trap speed was correct because then it should have ran a 7 or something faster than the 11.67. Anyway, nice car and vid.

179 Kilometer/hr..................thats 111mph if I'm correct. That car hit the rev limiter at about the 1000ft mark so there is more left in it. Don't know if it is a stock car though.

One already hit 121mph at 11:7 in Japan so the best is yet to come. Drag racing/qtr mile is not what this cars main purpose is...but with only 480hp that is laying down some good times.

111.6mph leaves a sea of questions to be answered. There is no doubt this car has no problem launching from a dig but once rolling it needs to pull 3800lbs plus driver.

Notice that this car even with a bad driver still maximizes the shifting by default, even if you forget to shift the car will shift on its own to its best.

My concern will be the trap speeds, it need to be tested more consistently.

I agree until we get one in the US and do some track testing I'm still conserned about the weight vs hp issue...and according to some reports out of Japan this car seems to defiy this law so I'm not 100% convinced yet. As you see I have one on order but if it doesn't live up to all the performance claims and media hype I will probably "flip it" and get a Heffner Performance TT Viper.

I want to see it run at the track. I don't think they have 121mph in them, but we'll see. My issue is once a few bolt ons come into play how will that ultra high tech tranny handle a extra 100+whp? For the dealer marked up[ 90K+ they are asking you'll have to have alot of coin to be a guinea pig.

Motoring already ran 11.6@121 with some change in Japan. Give me a second and I will post the video.

Quote: 111.6mph leaves a sea of questions to be answered.
The JDM R35 is supposed to have a factory-controlled top-speed of 111.8

According to Motor Trend;
Japanese GT-Rs are speed-limited for the street: As has been widely reported, unless it's driven on a preapproved racetrack, a stock Japanese-spec GT-R is limited to 180 kph (111.8 mph) with the factory settings. GPS sensors in the navigation system track vehicle position and communicate with the ECU. Try to exceed 180 kph, and a warning light will appear on the instrument panel. Only shutting the car off and restarting it will get the light to disappear.

Full Article: http://www.motortrend.com/features/a...gtr/index.html

They're not clear about what happens when the warning light comes on, but I don't know that it was a coincidence that the recorded trap speed was 0.2mph from the JDM speed limit.

Maybe not
