Why does Japan make better variants for the US models?
Why does Japan make better variants than the US models?
All:
The more I read about how almost EVERY iteration of a popular japanese car that gets produced over in the U.S. gets dumbed down in some form or fashion.
You can practically name ANY car over there - they are ALL better than the ones over here:
240SX - came turbo
Treuno - released only in Japan
MR2 - Gen3 245hp
EVO 8-9 - SAYC
Skyline - released only in Japan
STi - 2.0L Turbo edition
etc.. etc..
Why can't we get these cars produced in the US????

It has been like that for many years. Remember, you have to say thanks to the american drivers that preferered SUVs over sports cars, that is no more and no less what killed the VR4 and Eclipse GSX in the US(perhaps the 2 nicest Mitsubishis ever along with the Starion).
We are a minority, we are "a few" sports enthusiast but for the most part people worry more about driving SUV with 26" and rear mounted headrest DVDs than demanding true sports cars like in the rest of the modern world..
