What about,
Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren? The time for the Mercedes SLR 722 GT seems slow.
There are loads of cars missing...
No Jaguar XJ220, Ultima GTR, Mclaren f1, Bugatti, EB110, Veyron, Ferrari F50, Enzo and FXX, Maserati mc12.
No Saleens, Nobles, TVR's, Ascari's to name a few.
I know this isn't a production car but I'd like to see what time this car would get round the ring. http://www.dpcars.net/dp1/

They are all good names and all of that by the way, there was not a single one that I did not know myself(I knew them all) but look at the cars and the situation.Originally Posted by Kins

Jaguar is about 20 years old, I never seen one in my life nor in Europe nor anywhere.
The Ferrari FXX is extremely difficult to even certify it to be a street legal
The Maseratis MC12 are 17 feet long and would be horrendous on other test such parking lot cone Auto X
Ferrari F50 is very nice but for instance it brakes worse than a Lancer Evolution(I already prove that before, just do a search in one of my 5000 plus post) and it is not faster than current Ferrari models
There aren't many ultimas, McLaren F1 or even EB 110 to even be consider production cars so realisticly I wouldn't even consider them.
Put Porsche GT2, or a turbo, or a Lamborghini , or a Corvette Z06, these cars everyone car order them at any given time and order them at whatever color or equipment unlike the Ultimas,Ferrari FXX that you mentioned. Basically I am saying, lets be realistic. There are many cars you listed that are very very fragile, I don't think a FXX would clear a curve bank wth such low spoiler, the other fancy cars would probably have to go to a meticulous inspection prior and fater a few laps on the ring(maseratis MC12,Jaguar), take a Z06 to the track, to a long trip, to work or grocery shoping any day, no special inspections required, simple engine to work on(unlike maserati MC 12, Ferrari FXX, F50 etc),.

Mercedes SL63 AMG Black Series is listed with a time of 7:36. There is no such car as the SL63 AMG Black Series. There is a SL65 AMG Black Series coming, but to the best o fmy knowledge that car has not set a 'Ring time yet.

I would have thought the likes of the Enzo FXX, MC12, Zonda, Carrera GT, Maclaren SLR, Saleen S7, Koenigsegg CCX would be the quickest cars behind the Radical SRT8 (which is basically a road going race car). Yes they are big cars for the Nurburgring but with the suspension setups they should own the ring.Originally Posted by fromWRXtoEVO

Food for thought... what if future supercars had fully active vehicle dynamics that altered ride height, camber, toe, caster, spring rates, dampening, roll bar stiffness, tire pressure on the fly? You could upload optimum dynamic settings for each track or road and the car would automatically adjust it's settings as it drove round the track via GPS or electronic markers placed on the track.
With advancement in ECU's and automotive engineering I don't see why this isn't entirely plusable.

Oh I just noticed the xj220 is on the list as is the maclaren f1 and I bet these cars would be 15-20 quicker with new tires.
What the hell is a "Mercedes SL63 AMG Black Series"?
I'm also curious to know if the Lexus ISF is quicker then than Audi's RS4.

Even more impressive is that the SRT engineer Tom Coronel claimed the record on just his third lap ever around the Ring. He later broke his record again on the 5th lap. That car looked a real handful and to drive that car, that fast, not knowing the track could be called ballsey or insane!
Here is the article on autoblog:

Either way 2 thumbs up to Chris

Seem like they didn't test evo x on Nurburgring. Anyone have any ideahow fast is evo x on this track??

- There should not be comments like 'when driven by normal drivers', as only times we are considering are official fastest lap times using production cars using full wet weight. Any non-production car materials should be listed, such as tires, or half tank of gas (for 25+ gallon cars, this is already 100+lbs of weight reduction)
- Modded evo lap times would be interesting but really should not be used for comparing with other production cars. Yes, we all know that spending around $15,000 which is still very little sum can get the car around 450whp (~550hp crank) and 2500lbs along with racing slicks and custom transmission with gearing ratio to fit high speed tracks
- Old school supercars like EB110, F50 and so on would not have faired too well, at least compared to supercars these days due to ancient tire technology and limited gearing. I think McLaren F1 and its variants would still have done quite well, and actual race cars like 917 with 1500hp. CLK GTR, Porsche GT1, Jaguar XJ-15 would have done well since they are pretty much LeMans cars that are unprepped. You can see XJ220 lap time from 'fastest laps' link I provided above, decent but not so good. Saleen S7 and S7 TT should definately be fast on the track
- FXX/FXX Evo would no doubt run around 7min range give or take few seconds but it was never a production car and was not intended to be one
- Yes, the SLR/CLK63 Black/SL65 Black are amazing for their weight and using traditional slushbox. SL63 Black Series does not exist and please see 'fastest laps' listing to see correct CLK63 Black and SL65 Black lap times
- Another heavy car to notice is LP-640, it would have done even better as LP-670 SV
- Caparo T1, Ultima GTR, Ariel Atom 500, Caterham Superlight R500 may top Radial SR8's times
- Skyline GTR's should have around 350-360hp and NSX's should have around 320-330hp in real life, so their times are not as amazing as they seem
- 997 GT3 RSR should be below 7:15, pretty amazing for 450+hp and 2400lbs (over 5lbs per hp yet betters lap time compared to like 3lbs per hp cars)
- Evo X won't break 8min mark, whether it would be faster or slower than an IX, I don't know. Evo just doesn't have enough juice as stock in any generation compared to its weight (hovering around 10lbs per hp) and gearing is ideal for rallying and auto-x'ing rather than big big tracks, so 100mph+ accelation is crap and really pays toll on nurburgring lap time
- FD2 Civic Type R and the Mugen RR variant should mark around 8:30 flat and should be the fastest naturally aspirated FWDs
