We have all know by now what the exterior looks like, however, pics of the interior have now been released and they are interesting to say the least. Some official specs have also been divulged.

  • Fully independent suspension
  • Curb weight ~3700lbs

Engine choices include either a 296 hp, 3.6-liter V6 or a 416 hp 6.2-liter V8 which will feature cylinder deactivation to boost fuel economy. Underneath the retro sheet metal is a full-independent suspension and StabiliTrak traction control system. Four-pot Brembo brakes are mounted up front on the SS variant and the 3,700-pound coupe will reportedly have a weight balance of 52/48, front/rear. The neuvo-retro theme is carried inside with a gauge cluster inspired by the 1969 model, along with leather seats and blue LED lighting.

We'll have more specs and images as information becomes available.

Eh, the fatso Dodge Charger SRT needs another tubby friend to compete with. This looks to fit the bill.

A part of me likes the console setup. blue glowy + splash of retro is kinda cool.

Though I'd probably still go for the z06 if I was going to buy Chevrolet.

It's better than the Challenger, which decided to get really out of the box with an off-the-shelf 300c interior. Perhaps Chevy learned a lesson from that POS.

Asmuch as I love the new Camaro, the new upcoming Cadillac CTS-V, the new Vette ZR1 and all of these real muscle cars it makes me wonder if GM really realized they are in borrowed time. We are having the same oil crisis we had in the 70's and I think this is the last chance for american muscle cars, from this point I think the current market will make these cars collectors.

Beautiful car by the way.

Then it would be another $15000. Just those two things alone makes the car much more expensive (weight reduction and power).

Look at the new 09 Cadillac CTS-V, a true M-5 and AMG killer but also look at its weight and gas mileage(4200lbs and 12mpg city), you give and you take...

It's a stunning car that probably has more character (inside and out) than anything under $50k.

Also, LOL @ the people complaining about weight. Lets take a look at the weight of some current cars:

EVO X MR = ~3600lbs
G37 = ~3670lbs
M3 = ~3700lbs
335i = ~3600lbs
GTR = ~3900lbs

Those cars cost a lot more than a Camaro, so how can you expect the Camaro to be much lighter??? Face it, cars are getting much heavier and curb weights of 3500+ lbs are normal for RWD/AWD performance cars that have a backseat.

Oh yeah...the car looks awesome in bright colors...

I think they released the concept too early. I feel like its been around too long. Talking about weight, sign me up for the new 370Z. Under 3100 pounds and pushing 350 horse, add a catback and injen intake from the dealer and should be worth at least 20 horse.

The 370z is a 2 seater sports car. The G37 is a better comparison because they both seat 4 and the weight is about the same. Plus, I believe the 370z will start at $34k whereas the Camaro will likely start at $23k....big difference.

GM has always maintained that the Camaro will be "competitive with the Mustang" price wise.

So $23k for a V6 sounds realistic and I think if gas prices get more reasonable (and the economy improves) they will sell decently.
