Well, I traded my Silver EVO MR on a Monterey Red C6 coupe last year. But now I'm back to Silver again... My wife actually instigated this
This coupe has the Z51 package with the performance exhaust. 436 hp!!! And a sweet ride

Man, I'm so angry it snows here. I almost picked up an '07 red one with 4k miles on it for 40k... Stupid snow. Oh well, still super happy.
PS looks great, but for the love of god stick to your tuner roots and ditch those damn wheels. No one needs to do their makeup there anyway.

I gotta say though... you guys are pretty cool about liking the vette and all... When I was in the EVO camp, a lot of EVO guys were pretty hateful of other cars
Still, nobody is as bad as the Miata weenies used to be.. They'd hate on 917s, Ferraris, Lambos, anything and everything

Ha ha... You are the second dude to hate my wheels.... That's cool, to each is own, but in reality the chromies look pretty good in a vette. I had the plain silver wheels before in my '06 and I curbed the hell out of them. I never thought that chrome would look good but hell, it's not a tuners car. It's an old guys very fast and competent supercar....

(Is that better?)
Congrats on the fine looking ride. She's a beauty.
So whats the verdict on driving a C6 year round , even in 3 inches or so or snow.
With dedicated snow tires and smaller rims?
Im sure some do this,, just wondering what thier set up is?
Whats the smallest sized rims you can run on a c6?
The vette is a very very well priced car,, with 430hp and good mpg.
I currently swipe out my rims and tires on my 335i to dedicated snow tires, and the thing drives like a tank in the white stuff.

.Seriously, I don't think this is car for that sort of weather. Even the EVO is not good unless you put on some good snow tires.
I don't believe you could put on smaller wheels because of the ground clearance. You might be able to clear the brakes with slightly smaller than stock wheels, but for sure you'd have to go with bigger diameter tires to make up the difference. I guess you could get some extra stock size wheels for the C6 and put on some snow tires if they are even available. However, the car is so low that even with snow tires it might not go very far in anything more than a dusting of snow.
In all honesty, I still think that for me, the EVO is much easier to drive fast around corners and is unbeatable in the rain. The C6 is a phenomenal car, but it's not comparable with an AWD rally car because it's so different. You gotta want one for what it is, a super nice, very fast car with unique style. And yes, if you know how to drive it, it's probably comparable with just about anything out there on the road or track. I gotta say that it's awfully nice to have 436 hp and about the same torque available practically from idle. Also, mine came with the Z51 package which is quite a nice suspension upgrade. And the high performance exhaust is really cool too. It's very easy to not mod the vette and be quite happy with it. I did not mod my '06 C6 and I'll probably leave this one alone too
Actually, the car has perfect 50-50 weight distribution and traction control. I think if one wanted to get the right setup of tires and wheels and somehow raise the car, you can probably drive on the snow or ice successfully. Personally, I would not risk it.
Maybe I phrased it wrong, but I guess I was referring to the off the line torque.
Worst winter weather car ever, other than stang 5.0, but hey they didnt have blizzards in mind while designing it.
Keep the wheels, vettes are supposed to floss
