In my family there is an SX4 hatch-back. To be honest, its not fun to drive. Its very slow, pretty heavy, and in general - eh. The AWD is not full time, its selectable between FWD, when needed AWD high, and full time AWD low.

I would get a used 2.5l or WRX if you want to follow that slow first rule.

Or get an Evo, just do susp/tires/brakes and have fun until you need/want the power.

 

I didn't know that about the Suzuki but thanks for the info. As far as going with the Evo first, it might be the best idea. I just didn't wanna trash it. I thought about a GVR4 but I don't wanna catch the DSM bug. It would be great but the last thing I need is a pic of me sitting inside an engine bay.
