I would.

You buy the GTR becuase you have an everyday super car, not because you want to drive it when it when conditions are perfect, and its not raining.... and your on a track.

it takes a pretty incredible car to put that sort of beat down on the GTR. though these two cars aren't in the same class, be it technical specs or price. a more insightful comparison would be the vspec vs the ZR1; any car enthusiast should have seen this result from a mile away.

what makes you think they didn't? As everyone already knows, the v-spec isn't even out yet so there's no way they can test it. Why not just wait for it to come out then you ask? Well, I guess just to see how the GT-R would stack up. I bet noone would dare type "not apples to apples" if the GT-R won.

well, pointing out the apples to apples is pretty important. imagine if we compared a GTR to a non-ZO6 vette, and threw those results around as though there were something decisive or meaningful about it. we can all agree that the GTR will dominate a non-ZO6. we can also agree that the two cars are not matched in tech specs on paper, on track, and in price.

it's simple - this comparison, while entertaining and all, has a poor premise. which still does not take away the fact that the ZR1 trounced the GTR. but it's nothing insightful. it's pointing out the obvious.

That's exactly what I'm saying. There's really no need to state the obvious and that most likely no one state it if the underdog won. Plus we all know the CT9A would dominate all.

you know, though, with AMS winning SCC's USCC (and beating a GTR in the process), i think that the future is looking really bright for the CZ9A.

638-horsepower ZR1 vs 480-horsepower GTR?
Of course it should beat the GTR. No brainer there.

I rather have the GTR. Everyone and their old man owns a Corvette.

Does it come with a manual? If not, no thanks. LC + more power = bigger financial headaches...

You would buy a 100K car then go drive in the rain, snow, etc?

Have you heard of traction control? how about dynamic stability control? what makes you think it can be driven on rain?, formula cars and other compiting cars do...

As per the 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times, it already done 11.2@130.. where have you been? $25k more?, check again, the GTR MSRP got a price increase of $7000.

Changing the subject completely, I was at the GM dealer yesterday and the service manager was telling me that someone was picking a new ZR1 tomorrow (Friday) but that the new owner must go to a driving class just for this car (ZR1)...

I agree with you, I don't nor I know anyone that races on snow or rain however From having owned 10 AWD cars I think the AWD gives you the edge on those driving conditions...
