From the pics, it looks a LOT like an AE86. Must've been the style of the times.

Yeah it was, i have noticed that too..

The Starion only has like 2 or 3 differences sorta thing apart form size to make it different..

cause you also think back, at the same time, there was the Starion, Cordia, Ae86, Celica, Corona all with 2 door Hatchback bodies..

There's a gorgeous red Starion that lives around here and it was for sale and in EXCELLENT shape. Basically over time this guy realized he was going to be keeping the Starion for a while and accumulated engine after engine and when one went, he replaced it or cannibalized one of his spares. I wish I could've bought it. There's an older FWD turbo Mitsu 4 banger that we had here...can't remember it but it was a two door hatch as well. Maybe it was the American version of the Cordia.

Tredia. There ya go. "This allowed the AC model to get away with running the new low octane rated regular unleaded petrol. The final result was a car that had better fuel consumption and better around town drivability than its AA & AB leaded predecessor. But a lot less straightline performance than its older leaded brother!" <---From the site. I bet that's the one we had.
