i have a 1991 eclipse 1.8l sohc automatic i want to know what is entailed to put a gst motor swap and where can i find more information and a engine kit to do it.

and this has been discussed to death on other boards... sell the car get a turbo car and dont do the swap unless you are doing for fun, have lots of cash, or can source the parts dirt cheap.

Youre talking about; tranny, exhaust, ecu changes, motor, fuel system upgrades and then your still looking at a pretty much stock dsm 2.0 turbo motor.

unlesss you found a fully built 2.0 car that only has damage in the rear and you can pull the parts that you need.

 

just buy a 2.0L DSM and start from there....swapping a motor in is not the correct method....will cost too much..just buy one and build it up.

 

will cost you more than buying turbo gst.
try looking for a talon or laser it's the same car.

7K?!? Daaaaaaaaaaaamn that better be one modded to hell 1G! Oh, and yes, it's better just to buy a turbo 1G from the get go, it'll save you money in the long run, and they're relatively inexpensive anyway.

the first gen eclipses are the best to play with. ive seen people hit 12's with them fast

 

Mid 13s are a few bolt-ons away....

K&N intake filter + 3" turbo back + a manual boost controller = 13s easy!
