I own an 02 Harley Davidson F150...basically the same truck. I love mine! I chose the Harley Davidson because of the lack of movement in the lightnings seats. Those single cab trucks are hard to be comfortable in.

I'm actually selling it so I can get into an evo. G/L

never drove one but i was up against one at the drag strip. he beat me silly i was in a stock Jaguar XJR (ran 13.5 - very respectable for a large luxury sedan), and he later said all he had was a SC pulley, and boltons (ran 12.4)... perhaps he had wider tires too

You should look up the segment that Top Gear did on the F150. The model they tested was the Lightning. Not very flattering. No bueno.

I had one rev at me and do his "two step".

It was hilarious.

I owned a lightning for 6 years, and I loved that truck. I put headers and an exhaust and I was already running in the 12s. It was amazing how fun that truck was. I took it to Hawaii with me and it had to be the loudest vehicle on the island! I really miss that truck, so much that I want it back! If I could have my old lightning and have my evo, my collection would be complete. And I could use my truck to haul my car to the track, lol.

personally havent driven one yet, just wanted to
get some food for thought.

from one of my old srt4 buddies he said there was major lag when stepping on it.

comfort // power or whatever, i mean its pretty fast for a truck and i think it looks awesome
Also, I'm not sure who told you this about lag when stepping on it, because this doesn't happen. No matter at what speed you are, if you step on it your head is going back. So be careful if you do have one, cause I learned my lesson the hard way when I mashed the pedal and it was raining, lol. It's 400 horses with 400lbs of torque stock, you can't get better than that.

It's an automatic, so maybe he was in park? Mine was so loud that I'd get tickets, it was a beast.

My son has one. On the stock block, stock internals, bolt ons, 75 shot of nitrous and street tires ran mid 11's.

They are fun fast trucks, but you already have the Evo. I have a crewcab King ranch 150 and wouldn't trade it for a lightning........it way too comfortable

I owned a Red 03 Lighning for 4 years, I still regret selling it but I couldn't keep both that and my EVO. It was a blast to drive and if you needed to haul stuff you could do that as well. Plus being an automatic it was nice to switch between that and my EVO. I hope to be in the position to pick another one up down the road. It's not going to be as fast as an EVO, its a truck and weighs almost twice as much, comparing it to cars is Apples to Oranges, it beats the crap out of any other truck though! Good luck!

I'm jfm13 son. I am currently rebuilding my truck since i blew it up with my car club on one of our car club cruise night racing. oops. I currently bought a fully built race block stroked and bored and balanced cammed and everything else you can think of by lightning force. I am going to port the supercharger run a 10lb lower pulley and 200-300 shot of nitrous. It was and will be a fully built truck. I will be running 10's and hopefully into the 9's and maybe eventually when i buy a new supercharger run 8's but that will be a while...I love the truck and wouldnt give it up ever. If i had the choice i would keep it and make it a full drag truck and buy another car and use it to tow the other car too. But it doesnt get any better than someone kids in a car or someone in a vette or porsche or something like that wanting to race and smoking them in a 5,000lb truck but that's me.
