That's an incredibly slow time. ALL the magazines have run 13.0 - 13.1 @ 111 mph. Hot Rod ran 12.9 @ 112.

Maybe Hennessey is sandbagging so he can offer a "performance package" that will knock 1 second off the 1/4 mile time. Then again, it was in Texas so maybe it was the heat that slowed it down.

When decent drivers start taking these cars to the track, they should be running 12.6-12.9 consistently. It's basically a Pontiac G8 GXP with about 250lbs less weight.

 

i heard from a guy that the track he ran to is always badly prepped too, but ya he could of been sandbagging a little.

 

I mirror what E.Haskell said. This is an old classic strategy also known as cheap propaganda to show the public over inflated results once they release their products (Hennessey Performance).

Basically is like getting the car to run almost fast but not as its limits then drop the mods( Hennessey Performance)so that people can see the overinflated results. Folks, this strategy is the same as the one you find on ***** pumps commercials..

Look at the 60', 2.3 sec... Give me a break!

As Carlos said: 2.3 60'? Twatever with that. Apathy-induced shifting doesn't help either. Maybe he hadn't broken it in yet - or he is sandbagging.

 

Not a bad choice.. the G8 excells on its class(sedan). Both cars have a targeted crowd (american muscle car fans). The G8 actually runs toe to toe with the Camaro.
