Trading Evo IX For E36 M3 Tomorrow
Just thinking about your situation. If you refinance 15k for 72 mo @ 7% your payment is only $ 255.74. You'll still have a nice car that will hold value and be trouble free. If you think your saving money by buying a 1995 M3 with over 100k miles you are mistaken. I understand your trying to save money, but you have to look a little further down the road....
WOW! I am sorry that you had to trade in the EVO but sometimes you have to sacrifice something. My older brother had a 97' M3 which I helped him to buy from the dealer(made the color choice, etc), he then traded in for a 98', later he purchased a 2003 M3 so I have driven them and I have a very good idea.
You are getting yourself into a stepdown car performance wise but this is a temprary thing since you are going to school. I don't think you would be dissapointed but the thing about BMW is that they do face lifts and model changes too often and a 4 year old BMW is old so a 95 looks also old as well. Good car though.
Check those rubber driveshaft bushings, they go bad too often.

Plus the E36 M3 was my dream car since the 4th grade...
As far as performance the M3 handles great its not as fast in a straight line... But nobody in my area really races anymore so its not that important to me... When I bought the Evo I had intentions of making it a crazy fast street car.... Now I've calmed down a lot and got it out of my system...
I owe $15,500
There buying my car for $20,500
That leaves me with $5,000
M3 price is $5,995 ($6,000)
He said I will need new plates and some kind of 3rd buyer thing.... Because the Evo was under my uncles name...
So he said I will have to owe them $1,290
Does that sound right?

So in a way the Evo was just a weekend warrior for me...
My twin bro and I have come to the conclusion that we can still have fun in a cheaper car....
We were also thinking about getting a H/C/I/E LS1 car but decided to just go with the E36 M3 for now....
Also I want to flip cars on the side.... I wont feel guilty buying cars with the risk of not selling it when I have a $30k car sitting in my driveway...
Although I am planing on cutting down from work to go back to school... I will be flipping cars on the side to save some extra cash....
Get the breakdown of the 1290. There should still be no tax. Since the car is actually your uncles, you will need a plate if your doing it in your name this time around. They should still be able to work the no tax thing though as its still a trade towards the M3. Should be able to do a gift letter of some sort to make it work. It MAY change things a little though. Just ask them about it. If there is no tax, it shouldn't come up to 1290 unless they are whacking you with a 900 dealer fee. Dealer fees at Porsche dealers are only 600 or so. I can verify that if you want. Just gotta dig out some car info..
I was there earlier today and he just gave me a brief estimate of what I will owe...
I am planing on test driving the car to my house about 15 miles away to allow my father to inspect it...
Thanks...
In all honestly I am kind of done with the Evo... If I really wanted to I can keep it.... But I really only drive it every other weekend because I have another DD car....

Well now your story makes more sense.. Especially with a DD in the picture...
at first i thought it was just you driving the car. but now it sounds like you shared the evo with your twin brother and youre going to share the m3 with him as well...? how old are you guys? 20?
Or maybe its your uncle, or your brother or whoever else is involved with this deal is done with making your payments and your insurance on it or having it on their credit.
But whatever man, hope it works out for you. I just think if I was looking to chill out and save money by gettting rid of a car and going into a cheaper one, an older high mileage German car would be the last place I'd look.

Between the both of us we make over $3500 a month that's with one of us working every other day...
We make our own payments, gas, mods, insurance, maintenance, etc....
Plus we give $100 a day to my parents to help them out....
We both make good money but we decided to go back to school and get our 2 years over with....
I've owned the Evo for over 2 1/2 years ppl do get bored with things....
So dont talk out of your A hole...
A lot of haters in here. If you don't got anything good to say then don't say. he has obviously thought about the decision he is making. And right now that is the best decision for him.
GL with school man. The racing/car Scene around here has gone to ****!!! You are going to miss it though, I sure did.
