GL with the E36, thats a great price- Its better to invest in your education/future anyway, sounds like a good decision, especially if you are bored with the Evo... I know I am tired of making $560/month payments on mine, but have dumped $16 grand into it with parts and labor so it would be retarded for me to sell it now, I too have a DD and my priorities changed, so I hear ya on that! Hope the E36 holds up nicely

I know this is from a week ago and you may have already bought the car but it seems this was never answered properly,

He said I will need new plates and some kind of 3rd buyer thing.... Because the Evo was under my uncles name...
So he said I will have to owe them $1,290

Does that sound right?
Yes that sounds fine. 20,500 - 15,500 leaves 5k and the M3 is 6K if you've only gotta fork over 1,290, you're not getting hosed on dealer fees, etc. 1k of that 1,290 makes up the difference between what they're giving you on the trade (net of what you owe) and the price of the M3, the 290 is in fees/title/reg/whatever

I would think that should be your first indication to walk away and give you an idea of what your getting yourself into. But I guess you gotta do what ya gotta do. Good luck regardless. Only you know whats best for your situation.

definitely making a mature choice here in that you are opting to save money for the future. while it might be a bit of a "step backwards", e36 m3's are great cars that i'm sure you'll enjoy thoroughly.

Get your education and invest in your future...then you can get a great job and buy both an Evo and a new M3. Good luck with the car man.
