Trading Evo IX For E36 M3 Tomorrow
GL with the E36, thats a great price- Its better to invest in your education/future anyway, sounds like a good decision, especially if you are bored with the Evo... I know I am tired of making $560/month payments on mine, but have dumped $16 grand into it with parts and labor so it would be retarded for me to sell it now, I too have a DD and my priorities changed, so I hear ya on that! Hope the E36 holds up nicely
A lot of haters in here. If you don't got anything good to say then don't say. he has obviously thought about the decision he is making. And right now that is the best decision for him.
GL with school man. The racing/car Scene around here has gone to ****!!! You are going to miss it though, I sure did.

With the way the economy is right now I'm glad I'm getting $20,5 for my car...
????????????????????????????????? you know you have to figure in the money your throwing away, by first not selling it private second not trying to get price of m3 down! you gotta tell them you changed your mind and your gonna sell it on your own, make it like your having sencond thoughts these guys are the lowest form of life i say there gonna make at least 3to 4 THOUSAND of your youth and in-experiance the longer you take to buy the car the more you,ll save but anyways GL i think your crazy be careful with used car dealers!!!!!
I know this is from a week ago and you may have already bought the car but it seems this was never answered properly,
Yes that sounds fine. 20,500 - 15,500 leaves 5k and the M3 is 6K if you've only gotta fork over 1,290, you're not getting hosed on dealer fees, etc. 1k of that 1,290 makes up the difference between what they're giving you on the trade (net of what you owe) and the price of the M3, the 290 is in fees/title/reg/whatever
I owe $15,500
There buying my car for $20,500
That leaves me with $5,000
M3 price is $5,995 ($6,000)
He said I will need new plates and some kind of 3rd buyer thing.... Because the Evo was under my uncles name...
So he said I will have to owe them $1,290
Does that sound right?

I'm still waiting on the dealer to replace the ignition....
But will post pics once I get it...
I would think that should be your first indication to walk away and give you an idea of what your getting yourself into. But I guess you gotta do what ya gotta do. Good luck regardless. Only you know whats best for your situation.
definitely making a mature choice here in that you are opting to save money for the future. while it might be a bit of a "step backwards", e36 m3's are great cars that i'm sure you'll enjoy thoroughly.
Thanks guys got to test drive it today...
If everything is ok with it I will be bringing it home Monday... I just need to get it on a jack and see the undercarriage...
