Are people still having rust issues with the EVO. Any word if Mitsu is going to address the issue somehow?

Yep. When I was rear-ended and my rear bumper support was replaced, I had the same rust issues. After having the body shop (NOT Mitsu) check it out, they claimed it was NOT a problem and they will back that claim.

Actually, those 6 shots are kind of disturbing. It's okay to have rust pop up when you get a deep chip that you don't see, or anywhere the paint has been worn away or sprayed too thin, but most of these spots are under rubbers seals, like the door frame.

I don't belive that these cars should be rusting like this. It needs to be taken care of before it causes more than surface damage, and eventually destroys the resale value.

Rust on your underbody is normal. Any non-painted surface that isn't cleaned well will rust. Just look at your brake discs after a nights rain. The issue is these parts should not be rusting yet, in so many locations.

For those of us in the Midwest, we are notorious for rust. The warm summers and cold winters, combined with the general idea that too much road salt is a good thing, means we need to pay more attention that some others and we need to worry about it before we're the guys driving around with a duct tape fender.

Good thing I live in the desert. One less thing to worry about.
