There is and will never be another Subaru like this...
Hmm its been a while since I updated this....
Yeah actually I made some great progress this weekend on the Celaru and over the last couple weeks started dabbling on the WRX project I am working on over winter.
For the Celaru I got the Brakes 100% in just need to put fluid in and bleed them. I'll wait till have I have the seat mounted to do that. Got the rear floor piece in and I got the fuel pump assy mounted in the car!!! OMG I have been waiting to do that for 2 months. Delays in parts and constant redesigns as-well as meditation periods while working on other parts of the car made it take its time but its finally done. All I have is a crappy cell phone pic for now but here it is in its assembled fabricated form. I'll have to pull some of it out so I can finish sealing the floor and paint the bare steal.

As far as the list of things that are left:
Wire in the Relay for the Fuel Pumps
Re-do the rear Bars on the Roll Cage
Install the Battery and mount the Fuse Box
Install the Dash and Roll cage for good
Weld in the Seat Brackets and install the Seats and Harnesses
Run the Vacuum Lines
Install the Rad Fans
Install the ECU, Wideband, and EBC
Bleed the Brakes
Check Fuel System for leaks
Put the wheels on
Put the doors back on and run a couple wires
Install the bumper and hood for the last time.
Swap the Headlight and Taillight Wires
Watch it get put on to a trailer and leave...
I hope to have it 99% finished by this weekend with maybe a couple little things left to do so that it can be 100% ready to go the following weekend.
All have some good pics with the Cannon of the brakes and fuel system tonight so I can post those up tomorrow.
As for the WRX Project I am working I am going to wait to post any pics till this thread is put to bed so I can start a new forum just for it.

Haha yeah good ol Washington. Boring, but its got good snowboarding and leaves me time to tinker on cars.
Anywhoo.... UPDATE TIME!!!!!
So I got the rest of the floor in an welded up for good. Painted and finished. Its got some hammer marks in it because it warped a bit but its getting covered anyways so it all good.

Got the roll cage in for good and finished re-doing the rear bars so they would work better. Got the entire fuel system installed for the last time and tightened down so now I just need to wire in the relay and test it for leaks.
Also I got the seat brackets on the drivers and passengers side all finished just waiting for a coat of paint. Started the Battery, Washer tank, and fuse box mounting but it looks like I am going to have to extend the fuse box wiring about 8" to get it where it will fit so you can access it without removing the seat.

And Finally, I rounded the weekend out by installing and bleeding the brakes for the last time. No leaks, seems to work great. Had the Calipers painted the same Tuxedo black my Legacy is painted for a little added flair. Rotors are a bit rusty from sitting but they still look sexy.

Also I got the Radiator fans mounted and wires I just need to re-install it and put the hoses on. Once that's finished mounted for good I can install the P/S tank and finish running the vacuum lines and installed the bumper and hood for the last time.
Anyways once the Xmas thing is over I will finish the last few things and get this thing out of here. The car is ready to come off the lift but I want to leave it on there till I test the fuel system for leaks just to make sure.
Anyways I'll have some more updates after the holidays so stay tuned for the the last couple installments of this project.

Okay well here are some new pics. My Camera is being kind of a PITA so for the final pics I am going to get a couple other ones so my last pics of this thing aren't crap. This is the last update before the car is competently finished and ready to go. I believe that day will be Sunday.
Here is the finished battery/ washer tank/ fuse box mounted and ready to go:

And with the Seat in, in its full back position:

Pic of the drivers seat:

Okay now the fun stuff. I finished all the vacuum lines, installed all the extra bits, bled the brakes, clutch, so this is the completed engine bay. Strangely to me it doesn't look that out of place or all the crazy. Nice, clean, and tidy:

Here is a shot from the rear. Fuel assy all in and working good. There are a couple more pieces of the dash I need to install so the next pics of this will be of it finished and with the seats in for good:

I have only had this car on its full weight a couple times and the last time I tried to set the stance a bit more for when it would come off the lift for the last time. Its low but the stance looks pretty good. Even ride height. The front wheels sit nice but because of the rear flairs to rear looks like it could come out another inch. Camber settings are reasonable as well.

So Monday the Celaru will be out of my hands but I will have lots of pics of it outside (rain or shine) on Sunday when its picked up with the finished interior and all the exterior parts on.
Stay tuned for this threads last update....

So the day has finally come. I have 41 pics of Celaru goodness for you and I will be posting them all. So after just under 5yrs from the idea of craziest thing being thought up and then 4yrs of working on and off.
1yr of fab work by stripping an STi to bare steel and cutting the top off. Then stripping a Celica down to bare metal and cutting the floor out while braced and sitting on a lift. Then putting the front part of the STi on an old 1930s hospital bed and setting it into place by lowering the Celica down on to it. Then spending literally 2 days measuring and checking and setting to make sure it was set square into the Celica. Tacking it into place and then doing the same with the rear frame rails. Then about 2-3 months of welding then pieces together and seam welding the underside checking the car again and again to make sure it wasn't warping from the welding.
Then about 2yrs it sat while we collected parts and let the hype die down because word of the project leaked out and there were people asking questions and of course speculating that I was in idiot and I ruined 2 cars etc...
And finally what you have seen over the last year and few months. The assembly of the car once the welding was finished. From assembling an Engine, to fabricating a fuel system, exhaust, intercooler, and many other parts completely from scratch. Modifying a Wiring harness, re-doing the brakes, and upgrading almost every part to be able to handle the type of power this thing was going to produce. All while fooling you all it was a Subaru... Its been a long road. Not continuous there have been many other things I have done along side this but after 4 years I am finished with it. I can finally stop saying "I should be working on the Celaru". I can finally go to sleep with out spending many nights awake thinking of a way to make or install something for it. Finally I will be able to put a car that I own on my lift after 2 years.
So here it is the finished Celaru. Now I know its not totally finished but my work is done. It is ready to be tuned as soon as it gets a driveshaft.
