Ugly though it is, I'd bet on the Panamera Turbo ripping the CTS-V apart when it is released. For a lot more money, of course.

 

I'm not even sure if the Panamera will do it..
Basically, they've went out and built the fastest sedan on the market that they could, and then they're calling out all the other sedans in the market to come compete..

how embarrassing if they lose though

 

I'm not saying that this challenge is for the evo/sti, what i'm implying is that there isn't a sedan that would beat it stock for stock...its a no lose situation for gm to put out this "challenge"

A stock Evo will get murdered.

 

RS6 only weighs about 200lbs more, and has 15 more horses, and it is turbo'd V10 rather than SC'd V8 (ie, harder pull pretty much after 1500rpm by a lot). It should be pretty close.

I think S65 AMG may have chance as well, at least for one lap, but the tires would be in pieces after that.

Maybe Rohrl will show up with the Panamera Turbo for a decision match, after the ZR1 and GTR hype over Carrera GT and GT2 Nurburgring lap times.
