2005 Evo Traded for B6 S4 4.2L V8 6speed!

Well , I finally got out of my evo. She was one of the funnest cars i have ever owned. But it was time for something new. My Evo had about 55,000 Miles on it

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...st-ww-evo.html

Is a thread of all Her pictures for those that dont know my car.

I found this 2004 Black/Black 6speed S4 with only 35,000 Miles. Pretty hard to beat IMO.
And it is absolutly immaculate.

The diffrence between the 2 cars is a LOT. Evo was faster , Handling was a lot tighter and more responsive.

The s4 is a very nice cruiser. Seats are one of the most comfortable iv ever been in. Im 6'2 , And they are only 1/2 way back. I think somebody 6'8 Could acctully be pretty cumfy in it.

Its pretty QUICk. Its a lot diffrent then a 4cyl Turbo thats for sure. The 6speed is a very short 6speed. One thing im dissapointed in is in 6th @ 75mph Im getting 20-22 mpg lol.

Car is a lot "fatter" in the coners. Weighs probably 4,000lbs with me in it. But can still hang on an off ramp in the 75mph range. The exhaut note is awsome. I cant wait to get a catback on it.

These cars dont really have a good aftermarket for them , Wich is good for me beacuse i wont mod it. And even with aftermarkets they are still "slow" compared to a good old evo. Best times have been 12.9's with bolt ons! Although JHM just made a concept Nitrous kit that they ran a 12.4@117 in , Full interior , wich isnt all that bad!

Comments / Questions welcome

Andy!

In relation to what? Its a 4.2L producing 340hp , As a 5.7L LS1 makes 350. Pretty good IMO.

There is not a lot of aftermarket support for the engines Wich is maybe what u heard

+1 agreed, great exhaust note.

Congrats on the purchase

Now start saving your pennies, so you can trade it in for an RS4

If you dont mind me asking , What are they giving you for ur car?

And what are they giving you off the Hyundia , Cuz they can hide #'s that way.

I haven't talked with them yet about numbers so I'm unsure what they are going to try and pull. It's alright though. I'm an educated car buyer. I will be going next weekend though to play the game.

I made the opposite move (Audi B5 S4 -> Evo IX MR) and loooove my choice. Audis are fat, slow, expensive to maintain, expensive to mod, and very finicky.

I hope you did your homework before the purchase; congrats on the purchase.

I had a SSL , And in no way does it come close to the S4. I wanted something classy , the Evo is not classy. You cant go pick up a classy womanl in a modded out evo. She will look @ you like you have 3 heads. haha.

Plus the s4 is so low key , Can do 20mph over the speed limit right bye a cop and nothing happens. In the evo id be in handcuffs with my car getting searched.

I will prob go back to an evo someday , Or more likely a 1g DSM to build into a track car.

And 295ft/lbs? haha. Great engine though.

Hope you did your homework on the evo , 3k oil change , 6k Reardiff/centerdiff/tranny fluid changes. Tires that last for 14k , i could go on =D

And a stock s4 , will pull on a stock evo , pretty easily. So i wouldn't exactly call them slow. But , Youll be hard pressed to ever been in the 11's in one

s4 is a great car, but you're talking about a low 14sec maybe high 13 car stock. "hardly pulling on a evo" territory. cant be beat for speed vs luxury though.

regardless, what were they offering you as a trade in value for your evo. i am always looking to move on, and we both had 05 ssl white evos with similar mileage in the same city( saw your fs thread).. curious as to what offers you had.
