I've owned two Supras a 97 with bpu upgrades and my current car which is a 98 with an old school Greddy T88. Even at bpu levels the car is a blast to drive. It doesn't take much $ to get you to 400 rwhp.
The car gets a lot of attention which isn't always a good thing. All of a sudden eveyone wants to race you. IMO it wouldn't make a good daily driver...not that I do. I've always been a fan of the 3000GT but from what I've read they are very problematic.

Which one do you think I would pick?
1990's Toyota reliablity is pretty stout.
BTW, I don't have a brother and am not a douche; says the man with a Mustang GT in his User CP.

Depends.
Supra 1979 - 1992
Supra (Twin Turbo 2JZ-GTE) 1993 - 2002
VR4 1990 - 1993
VR4 1994 - 1999
(hit or miss in terms of style)
I am torn, the TT Supra is a real powerhouse, and the styling is really nice, but the early VR4 (pop up headlights) is may favorite looking of the bunch. AWD platform of the VR4 is superior to the RWD platform of the Supra.
However, the resale value of a top of the line Supra vs a top of the line VR4 is significantly higher. So if I were to take one over the other it would be the Supra, but if I were to buy one it would be the VR4 HANDS DOWN.

Personally, I would take a vr4 spyder. But if it wasn't a spyder, then I'd take the supra. But they're different classes IMO as a few others have said.
Pretty sure they are pretty weak. I believe they just made it into the 9's a year or two ago, so conservatively, 7 years after production ended and 15+ years after production started?
does anybody here know of a bad *** 3000GT ???? what can they be pushed to??How strong are they on stock internals and block??Its just there is something sexy about the all wheel drive and stearing..I know the supras bad *** but how bad *** is the 3000GT is what im wondering??
i would rather have a twin turbo nsx (sexy, classy, and fast)
But your post is between a supra and 3000gt VR4, i would agree with others saying that the supra is a proven platform.
Supra FTW!!

You confused yourself with your own poll. At first the title says which cars has better top end(I am not answering that yet). Your poll says what car is better or would you want?
I think that you are the one that needs to do some reading.... where have you been? have you ever been in a car show with a Supra with the hood open and a gigantic single turbo set up on the left side of the block(if you are facing the car).
The engine in the Supra and its transmission were built with some standards that current manufacturers haven't accomplished yet. To the surprised of the world the Supra surpassed the expectations as far is engineering, simple, robust, proven.
I owned a couple of VR4s, they are great cars, comparable to a Supra in stock trim, still comparable with a Supra with basic bolt ons(specially if you retain the stock turbos on the Supra) but once you want to go nuts powerwise the two cars in question don't even come close, the Supra simply crushes the VR4 in the power bench race.
go to WWW.3si.org Good luck with either car.
Historically, it hasn't been like this though. the vast majority of people aren't aware that Toyota also made the biggest embarrasing perfromance car in priors years. They built a non turbo Supra with 200hp and a Turbo Supra with 230hp.. WOW!! what an achievement.
European car magazines tested the 80s Supra turbo auto and got an astonishing 10 sec 0-100km/h.. WOW!!
Mitsubishi was already kicking major a$s with the tredia turbo, cordia turbos, mirage turbo, conquest turbo, etc.

Supras have awesome potential, but they've been done to death by people with a lot of expertise and a lot of money, so I think I would prefer building a VR-4 more so because they aren't common in tuned form and AWD makes them more versatile in more situations. I'd like to have either car though.
But don't let anybody fool you. Buying a 12+ year old car and throwing a bunch of mods at it is going to be expensive and problematic - and that's with either one of them.
