The SRT-8 was one step above the Mustang GT but it also cost almost $40000 while the Mustang start at around $25000 so lets give it a fair game.

Remember, Ford had the Shelby GT500. As per the Camaro, well, yes, it came out last year with more power but it hasn't been a year since they came out and Ford Already steeped to the plate with the Mustang GT.

Do the math, the Camaro takes 6.2liters to make 430hp, the Mustang makes 421(about 435hp really) with just a 5.0liter..uhmmm...

The Mustang GT is always welcome. No, I don't think it is too late.

Well said and I dont think that the new Camaro is anything to brag about. its ugly and looks like a Challenger. I know the new GT is something i am looking forward to seeing. I might have to get one to give my Terminator some company.

the new 5.0 is gona be sick fast and the fact that it will be around 28k its even better. Its gona be hard to boost the 11:1 CR but its doable.

Most people won't get it loaded, but Ford just sells their packages Stangs at such a stupid premium its ridiculous. What's more ridiculous is that the Ford Faithful pay the asking prices and dealer markups onthe special editions

As for the base GT 5.0, I agree. This is car fkn insane and would be a nice addition to any garage

Yeah, I suppose you're right about their pricing / packaging. On the other-hand, later in the year, Ford does offer some nice rebates & financing.

Even the new v6 stang coming out puts up respectable numbers. 5.1 to 60 and 13.7.

Spend 5000$ on a Civic hatch, dump 20000$ into it and have a car that blows the doors off the Evo and the Mustang.
I'm really impressed with what Ford is doing lately. The Mustang is a great car and there's talk of some type of high performance Focus in the future.

Here we go again. yeah, get a used 600 bike from the 90's and run 11 in the 1//4 mile for like $1000. How about that?

+++1111111. people just don't want to give credit to cars that deserve it. A basic Mustang GT will probably sell for mid $20k and still delivers a great 0-60mph. What is worng with that?

Well Carlos, everybody knows that the Evo is the bestest thing eva and any car that isn't an Evo is a POS, including Porsches, Corvettes, Vipers, etc. If you can mod an Evo to be as fast as it is in stock trim, 0-60 and 1/4 mile times only of course, than the Evo is a superior vehicle.
I hope I wasn't too thick with the sarcasm.

And it still looks like an Evo...what if people don't want an Evo or had one and got tired of it?

I'm still holding out for the Focus RS. But I do really like this years Mustang.

What if you like the idea of doing burnouts or donuts without blowing up center differentials? What if you want to blast some Van Halen with the top down while your glorious mullet elegantly flaps in the wind?
Yeah I'd love an RS too, in bright green.
