2011 Subie WRX and STi threads - Merged.
seen the new STI?
yeesh... looks like the car was pieced together, literally mixing and matching the front end to the mid and the rear... definitely has lost some of it's personality over the years

Yeh I guess you are right. Even though for the past 3 years or so, where car makers enjoyed record sales, Mitsu had to offer 0% in order to stimulate poor EvoX sales, otherwise we might not even have gotten '10 model with so many '08 left.
Like a 15 year old Supra, a 25 year old Grand National, or a 40 year old 454 Chevelle. Out of personal curiosity, when did you decide to get "into cars?"
You're right. The X was very well received. No 09 model year due to poor sales, 0% financing, lease deals, factory incentives, and they still couldn't find enough folks to buy the '08s before the '10s arrived.
Guys, this isn't about which car is better. It's about the car's position in the marketplace. If you can't relate to the difference between the two concepts, we might as well call it quits right here.

That's what I might be going to this Summer since my girlfriend just rear-ended somebody in Ralliart. Even though the car can be fixed and there wasn't a whole lot of damage, the car is damaged goods to me and will never be the same. I really like what they did with the 2011 WRX.
Subaru has been doing the same 0% the past few years. The '08 STi's were drastically reduced in price plus 0% in order to clear for '09 inventory.
The difference between Mitsubishi and Subaru in 08 was that Subaru ended up selling STI's up to $6k below MSRP to get rid of them late in the year. Guys were getting into 08 STI's for nearly the same price as the WRX. Mitsubishi wasn't able to absorb those types of losses so they just didn't manufacture 09's for the US.
