I would take a CTS-V or E63 or M3 in that order over an IS-F.

Someone brought an IS-F to autocross here in Birmingham last year, and he was a middle of the pack car in a group that overall isnt that impressive. He could just be a bad driver though. Looks nice though for the most part.

The car suffers from low speed understeer, it's also very heavy, I'm not surprised it was having troubles on a tight course.

They look horrible and dont perform for sheet. Which is odd because with an 8 speed trans you would think it would be amazing. But for for some reason the car just doesnt deliver. That and the tailpipes are just ridiculous. I rather walk

If you need a non-basis opinion on the car shoot me a PM. I have owned an IS-F for the past year. There is a huge amount of miss information in this thread.

I think more than a few of us would be interested in what an owner has to say over what other speculate. I think your post in the thread would actually be helpful.

I think it's not worth it's sticker, but you can pick up a 1 year old used one for about 40k. Good deal in that aspect.

Well, I guess I can offer a little opinion on the car.

Pros:
As far as looks go I think my car looks sick, but everyone has their own opinion (Attached a couple of pictures of the ugly car). Power wise the car is a blast to drive. It has zero dead spots and the 8 speed transmission, which I would more refer to as a 6 speed is awesome. Top two gears are for gas mileage only. It does take a little time to get used to driving the car, but once you do you would never want a different transmission. It's that good in my opinion. If you want to compare the shifting to something it's the same as a no lift shift done perfectly everytime. When you're entering a corner at high speed and dropping down a gear it rev matches perfectly. Handling in stock form I will admitt has understeer. The front end feels disconnected. I knew this when I purchased the car and fixed it quickly with coilovers and the problem has disappeared completely. Now the car is very balanced and when pushed to the limit, you know what is going to happen and when. Powerwise the car is great and can hold it's own against cars you would not expect. It performs at it's best up top, but has great low end power as well. I have read a lot of articles saying this and that, but with this car you need to spend more then 10min behind the wheel to get to know it. Once you do you will be rewarded. Gas mileage is great. I average 24mph mixed, 28-30mph on freeway, and 22mph city.

Cons: The back seats suck. If you have kids or like to take your buddies with you in the back seat I would say get a different car. I have a DD, so I could careless, but if it's important to you then look at another car. The car has zero aftermarket support in the performance end to speak of. Lately some companies are coming around and working on headers and such, but right now it's mainly exhaust and intakes. I am a mod guy at heart, so this is kind of a pro as I spend less money on the car...lol

If anyone has any questions let me know. Again this is my opinion, not facts. I can only comment on my impression of the car.
