I am SO over this green crap.
Honda wussed out on the Si with the EP hatch, then came back strong with the current Si. Now, the 2012s are getting the TSX motor with an integrated exhaust manifold, a 7100rpm redline, and no VTEC on the exhuast cam! Huge step backwards; history has already proven this isn't going to work out.
The torque will increase, but the good part of the powerband will decrease, and the aftermarket potential will be failsauce.
"Americans want torque..." Not THIS American!
I have just written Honda off completely with the death of all their fun cars, and this just sealed the deal. When I remember them now, it will be for great past cars.
Rest in peace, K20Z3.

They're putting a 2.4L in the SI? That doesn't sound right, what's your source? My understanding in that Honda's plans for the future involved phasing out their 2.0 engines in favor of 1.8L engines, not putting a 2.4L in a Civic.

Im sure people will still buy them and swap the head for a K20 VTEC head and boom you have a K24 VTEC. Dont get me wrong im still disapointed, I liked the K20Z3 but im sure the aftermarket will follow with conversion kits or whatnot.
