2 words for why they need to start using turbo apps...

EVO, STi

Honda used to own the road, now they are nothing but "fun, commuter cars"

Partially true, they do use them:

and another one:

They also used to rule F-1 during turbo era
You never know when they decide to use turbos again in cars.

Honda can do a lot more to improve their high performance image beyond the Type R's (NSX, ITR, CTR) if they simply try to move past their affinity for small displacement. Stick an improved version of the 2.2L in the TSX in the Integra, leave the K20 in the Civic, and maybe maybe maybe if the cost doesn't become insanely prohibitive, a V8 inside the NSX.

Au contraire, Honda DOES turbo! Back in time when McLaren Honda was dominating F1, it was a turbocharged engine (until they banned the turbo engine and Honda decided to pull out).

Am I that old or you guys are that young?

IMO turbos are not Honda's style, they seemed to stick with hig rev, high compression engines in cars that handle like crazy. The jet skis were in part of the impending 2 stroke ban on a lot of lakes and yamaha pretty much ripping the R1 engine out of the bike, fuel injecting it and putting it in a ski. And as for the F1 engine, granted alot of R&D comes from F1 racing. F1 engines have a lot of attributes that will never see public roads.

In what kind of race? The HP specs are damn near dead on, 1 hp favor to the evo, the low end punch just isnt there in a NSX 210 to the EVO's hefty 273. As far as handling, never driven an EVO, but I can tell you the NSX can handle the Valet garage at Harrahs casino in Laughlin nevada 43 mph in the straight aways and 20 in the turns. Thats pretty damn good.

This is sad if it's true. I think the appeal of high end cars (ferrari, lamborghini) is that they don't need turbos. I mean I like porshe as much as the next guy but I'd get a N/A version of that too (GT3).

Honda never owned the road. Their car line has always been about affordable, reliable, environmentally friendly cars. The NSX is Honda's vision of a supercar - lightweight (relatively) and a small, clean, moderately powerful engine. I would be very surprised to see Honda resort to turbo(s), if only because of the emissions aspect.

I don't think they'll build it with a V8, so a turbo V6 would be the way to get 400hp, unless they do an electric motor assist like that Eclipse concept.
