Im surprised the metal didnt turn into molten and deform itself. I think if you run a turbo with no oil line going to it, this overheating from friction will result.

yea thats one crazy pix but thats not a H22....

reason being its not a 4 cylinder just lok at the header... its a inline four and the top is red h22 are black top...

i kno this cause h22 are horizantally(spelling) mounted. and alot of room for a nice header. not cramped up like that. also a friend of mines has a h23a t3/t4 and built engine producing 400+ to wheelz...

Uhhh, I only see 4 header tubes, and when comparing to my friends 97 H22 they look exactly the same. His valve cover is red also, not black. Also, this engine is a test engine, it is not in the engine bay of any car. Look closely and you can see the ground. Anyway, regardless, I posted it cuz it's a cool pic, don't start flaming over pointless ****. Thanks

That's not uncommon on turbocharged engines.

(Eh, that sounded kinda vague. I meant high performance turbocharged engines when they're run hard.)

You can do the same thing on your Evo if you want. This is quite common on Turbo cars pushed to the max...not necessarily bad unless you don't have sufficent cooling and fresh oil. Just take your car from 0-140...then drive it hard at 5K+ Rpms for awhile. Pull over...open hood.

In the Mischief 3000 DVD there is a 996TT making around 800WHP, on a dynorun the intercooler turns the color of that turbo.
