Will Fiat Abarth be the next SRT-4?
i definetly don't see it becoming like an srt-4 neon, matter of fact i haven't even seen any in my area. i feel the Abarth is a nice looking car, and its starting to have a cult following here in the U.S . i feel its just a leading competitor to the Mini cooper. other then that i don't see it becoming big in the tuner scene, its just novelty car..
The European Abarth uses a completely different engine. I doubt the tuning experience done on the Euro Abarth will translate over here. The US Abarth uses the multi air engine with a turbo.
That said the Marelli engine package seems to be good for around 40 HP, which isn't bad for a car which starts with 160 to begin with:

Just when I had become sufficiently impressed with the Abarth at the very attractive price point of $22,500, now Fiat announces a 500T, which is basically the 500 Sport model with the addition of a detuned version of the Abarth's engine. And, with a sticker price of $19,500.
Interesting indeed.
