TB Built evo viii 500whp project.

Hello all
Ive been on here for awhile now and figured i should finally make an intro thread. I have had my fair share of cars; 30r speed6, stanced miata, 415rwhp fbody camaro and a fiat abarth but by far the evo is my absolute favorite.
I picked her up locally and have already started some work on here. the chassis is currently at 73.5k miles. motor is about 5k miles

current mod list.

Wiseco pistons 1400HD
Manley Turbo Tuff I Beam Rods
ACL rod and main bearings
Kiggly Dual valve springs
Manley valves
Buschur Racing MBC tuned at 20lbs
Buschur Racing turbo back exhaust with test pipe
Buschur Racing Double Pumper fuel system
Bushwacker Stage 1 transmission
Exedy heavy duty twin disk clutch
AEM wideband o2 sensor
Mishimoto IC.
Prosport Evo Series boost, oil temperature and oil pressure sensors
rexspeed type c carbon spoiler
JDM Evo 7 tail lights
Stock turbo, cams and cam gears.

I currently have Buschur upper and lower IC piping and tial q sitting in my living room. Just waiting on the BR core.

I am ideally shooting for 500whp as my daily driver. next i will be sending the exhaust and intake manifolds and the TB off for porting and a set of BR 272 cams. then im still deciding between a fp red or a precision 6262.
Yes i will be dropping her asap! wheel gap is no bueno!
if someone can embed the pics that would be awesome i dont know how to

Colton

Thanks! I can't wait to stance these rims aome the gap is killing me.
Probably do the mr bilsteins with swift springs and 20mm ichiba spacers all around. This way ill get a nice offset. I was looking at rpf1s but for the price of them without tires and consideribg they are only a lb lighter then the bbs I stuck with the bbs. Plus they look great.

Have you thought about EVO X BBS or Enkei with 255/35/18 tyre??
Pretty nice drop in upgrade and still being OEM
When you have the fund, you can just sell away the EVO X rim and grab yourself some nice aftermarket 18x9.5 and still be able to use back the 255 tyre

so decided to take the rear emblems off today since I want the matte black carbon evo8 emblem and it didnt turn out quite how i wanted. I have done this before and it has never been this much of a pain in the ***.

I took the badge off using fishing line and goo gone. However after i finally got all the crap off and used a stratch doctor there is still a clear outline of the words. I understand some of it is because of paint fade but ive never had this much issue getting it all off.
Any ideas?

Try just polishing it, and if that doesn't work you'll have to compound/polish it.

6262 on pump gas don't do well

Do an FP Black and Meth if you can't get e85

Also change the mishimotto to a vrsf or muse core....if not bushur core or ets

For camshaft do gsc s2r Tom has shown they make good power even on 2.0 blocks

I can thankfully get e85 at a few stations within 5 min from my house.
By buschur race core will be in tomorrow for all the cold air ill need, I was leaning towards the br 272s after seeing the thread with the dyno results of various cams but I will look into the gsc.
I've heard the black is not great for a daily turbo though because of late spool characteristics. I can do the smaller hotside but even so....

6262 would be even worse but you could do a .63ar however why waste all tha money on a t3 set up for only 500 whp?

If its e85 dd and you only wan 500 whp red or green

Gsc s2r are superior to buschur camshaft
