well when you hit the gas posi is always there. when your cruising down the highway its not locked. Every time that I have left tread its always spun both. it has electronic control to help with torque steer.

The car has some special things you may not know about. Car has a feature called hill assist and wont roll backwards for a few seconds to give you time to get moving. This being one of them.

 

Not all FWD cars will open diffs will do a one wheel peel. My Cobalt always spun both with an open diff.

Not a big fan of hill assist myself. Drove a few GM cars with it. Wasn't expecting it, didn't give it enough gas to overcome the brake, stalled. It's a weird feeling if you've been driving a manual for years.

 

IIRC the hill assist can be disabled and I plan on doing so when I get the car. I hate crap like that as it teaches you bad habits.
