Almost traded my EVO!

Hey guys, I almost traded up my 05' RS yesterday for a new 13' WRX. I am getting a really low APR and a good deal on my trade for sure so that's not the issue. I almost walked away with it yesterday but wanted to sleep on it. So today I'm really contemplating if I should do this. My RS was paid off 1 year ago. I am the original owner and the car has never been in any accidents, clean title. Will need a clutch soon, ac needs looked at or recharged, needs a battery, but other than that the car is perfect. It has 115k miles strong. I guess all day today I was thinking its a 32k$ decision. I would be financing a good bit like 290$/ 60 months and loosing about 14k$ in equity in my car at the same time. Thanks for any input and my bad if this is the wrong section.

It is your decision but I would keep the evo but it depends on what works best for you. I personally like the thought of no car payment and I love evo's.

I love EVOs as well. I guess my thinking was I don't want to start dumping money into the car if stuff goes wrong or really starts to wear out. I think I have at least another couple of years before that happens hopefully. I really take care of the car and I just priced out everything that could be done to keep it running perfect for at least those 2 years and beyond and its only 2,755.00$ for clutch, tires, ac recharge, fluids flush and a battery. But even that stuff is fine at the moment.

Well if you keep it for a couple more years that is just more you can save up to put down on a new car later and have a much cheaper payment.

do not trade your evo in!! you are better off selling private seller and using that as a down payment. you might get 8-10k for trade in, or sell it for 12k.

they are giving me over 12k$ on my trade. I have them at 289/mo. for 72 months at a 2.9% apr right now. The fact they are hooking me up on my trade is what is luring me in lol

I dont know bro... i really like the looks of the more aggressive WRX's now. And the car is quite a machine especially with a few mods

A new WRX is a better car if you plan on using it as a DD. Meaning, stock, it's safe, reliable, warranty, etc. If you need a race car, keep the Evo. I miss my Evo IX every day, but Evo X is so much more comfortable to drive around in.

yeah man, i'm just daily driving in and for use as a mountain car for snowboarding. maybe a few basic mods for fun but no track days or anything. The 3 year bumper to bumper and 6 year power train is nice to have. agreed.

I have found that if I have to think about doing it I end up regretting it. When I want to get rid of a car I know I want to. Good luck either way.

I almost traded my Evo 8 for an Evo 9 MR the other day. I drove the MR and I liked it but in the end it would have been a $20K trade. As much as I liked the Evo 9 I did not feel it was $20K better than my Evo 8. It maybe apples to oranges but in your mind you will always compare the EVO and the STI but if you overcome that then it will be an easy decision.
