Sludgy tar like oil.

So here are some pics of a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan with a 3.6L:
The oil has been changes at the following mileage:
4,043
7,956
12,040
15,862
25,062
25,550(engine failure)

So, what do you think happened

Looks like water/coolant got into the engine.

Perhaps the head gasket was leaking, allowing coolant to enter the motor. How's the water pump look?

Was this conventional oil?

It failed 500 miles after an oil change? It could be me but that doesn't look anything like oil. more like diff fluid or something extremely thick.

All other fluids in the vehicle are clean and full. The shop says it smells like varnish . I am having them collect a sample and send it out for analysis. It looks like someone added something they shouldn't have to the engine oil.

FYI - this is a vehicle in a fleet of 30.

The shop, Nesbitt Auto Repair, has been the one and only shop to change oil in all of the company's fleet vehicles for the past several years. We have been in contact with the owner of the shop. No blame is being pointed towards anyone at this point.

I look forward to the oil analysis.

Looks like the oil was not changed since new. I have seen this happen to new vehicles that were using factory petroleum oil and never changed in 19,000 miles. It looked the same.

No assistance from Dodge; there is no manufacturer's parts defect shown.

I've seen it where the oil has never been changed before and its sludgy yes, but this is different, like laffytaffy different.

No response from a Oil Analyzers Inc on if they can see what this is. Several others said this would break their analyzer or that it would cost several hundred up to a thousand dollars to tell us exactly what it is.
