Drove a WRX today

My fiance really wants a WRX hatch so we have enough room to carry kayaks and both our mountain bikes snowboards etc. All this being said I was pleasantly surprised on how the car handled also it had good power and plenty of room. She wanted a Impreza sport but it was a dog 148 hp for 22k which is lame. I can get a new WRX for $24,625 which is below invoice due to we are IMBA members. Just wondering if anybody else has a WRX in the fleet as well? Seems like a mild manner good daily driver.

My brother will be picking up a WRX sedan in WI this week. Paper is basically done, we're just figuring out a time to go and pick it up. Also we just got hit with 1 foot of snow yesterday and waiting until the roads get a little better before we pick it up since it comes with summer tires. Looks like there's a huge shortage of wrxs in MN and they are asking msrp only. We were able to get invoice in WI, it's worth the 4hr drive there to pick it up and save 1500.

We have an sti and it is a great car. It is very easy to tune and make good power and also is very reliable other than the ringland issue. The WRX is a great car for the value IMHO

I have a 2012 WRX and it's been great. I previously owned '92 and '97 Eagle Talon TSi's, and a Stage 1 '06 STi. I don't own an Evo, but lurk here anyway because I loved the Talons. The WRX seems really quick, maybe not too far behind my STi. They seem a lot quicker than the factory torque and horsepower numbers would indicate. It's a lot softer in roll and ride than the STi, but is a fantastic daily driver with decent cargo room (sedan). It averages about 25 mpg in mostly secondary road driving.

I almost got a '13 WRX before I picked up my Evo. They are great cars but Subaru didn't want to give me what I wanted on my trade in so I said **** you and went elsewhere.

I think it will be a good car for her for running to and from work maybe auto x once and awhile. It will probably remain mostly stock other then a nameless catback, some window tint and a Yakima rack and some decent all-season tires like conti's or something on new wheels. Its nice to see some honest opinions on a Evo forum about a so-called rival car thanks for the inputs.

My girlfriend has a 2011 WRX Limited Sedan. I drove the car a lot. The leather and interior make feel like a pretty upscale car, from the usual hondas/nissans/etc daily drivers. The sound system is really good for the base stock system. It has room for 4 people comfortably and It looks good on the outside as well.

She put fortune auto coilovers on it and it actually made me dislike driving it, as now I think it is too stiff on the bumps. But when it was stock I really enjoyed driving it.

The suspension was good enough for turning and cruising. The braking is the only thing I am going to say I dislike on the car stock. However, it is not really a fair comparison from my Evo's Brembos. Other than that the car is a great daily driver. I actually recommended it to my brother when his Audi A4 lease is up as a replacement. So collectively I think you will enjoy the car a lot when you get it.

My other friend has a Sti hatch which just looking at the size comparison between the two, has a lot more room, which sounds like it would benefit you.

We will be ordering the base model in Dark Blue and the Hatchback model but something has to be done with those awful fast and the furious looking taillights I mean really what were they thinking.

The newest model wrxs are realllly powerful, can easily and cheaply be in sti territory.....my first car was an 03 wrx wagon, loved it. I prefer evo over sti but the wrx is the great in a lot of ways

Its going to be her car so it won't get much as far as performance mods other then an axleback exhaust we want it to be our road trip car but still want something with awd and power to get us into the mountains of CO when we take trips out that way. Here in South Dakota there isn't alot of tuner cars here just some mullet drivers who think imports suck and we all jerk off to fast and furious movies lol
