dilemma: G35 6spd coupe or Evolution?

In about 3 weeks I'm getting my next car.. and am deciding between the two...
Please no comments like.. "it depends on your needs" and basic stuff like "Evo's better on snow cuz it's AWD" or "G35 is way to go if you want luxury"
I need some biased opinions from you guys. I've been always wanting to get Evo for about 2 years now.. recently changed my mind and am leaning towards G35 6spd coupe.
I see that many of you Evo owners are also G35 fans so what would you recommend me getting? (finance is not really a problem for either one)
The reason I would want Evo is for its handling, turbo, AWD, and 5 grand cheaper price.
The reason I would want G35 is for its luxury, coupe, 6spd, and looks.
If I go with G35 I might put on a Greddy TT later on if I have $$.
0-60 on stock G35 ranges from 5.7-6.1 (depending on driver)..
Any opinions welcome! Help me plz~

I was stuck with the same delimma. I chose the EVo. It seems like you are worried about performance down the road, if so, Evo all the way. With a 1000 in mods it is a totally new car again.

I was considering the same but after driving both and comparing I decided for the evo. The g35 is a sweet car but at this time in my life I want more power and I dont really care about the luxury thats why im going with the evo.
You said you don't want to hear it but "it DOES depend on your needs". These are 2 completely different cars so narrow it down to what you are looking for and get what makes you happy.

Very true in the past few months just on this board there have been alot of 350z owners that went Evo.

yeah. you kinda ruled out posting the important stuff.. so not sure if this is what you want to hear. you asked for biased opinions..

i love the way the g35 looks and sounds. 6 spd is nice. luxury is nice (leather), but that's the mission of the car. Don't like the small back seats (I'm planning on family soon), steering wheel to me is ugly. Can't believe they put the seat controls IN the seat. Just where you would spill something. And a good place to collect dirt and crap. Not enough differentiation from rest of Nissan family (All use the same v6 and chassis). I see quite a few of these too. Doubt g35 drivers acknowledge each other. Probably minimal maint costs. Not sure what you can do to this car to make it go faster. Doubt you can use 350z perf parts exactly.

I love the mission of the Evo. Screw the leather (for purpose of car), love the recaros, and i dont see other people driving this car a lot. I have been a rally fan for 10 years so I have always wanted one of these. And yes 4wd for winters. Turbo is awesome. Love the trq spread. Love the interior layout and all but quality could be slightly higher. I'd be willing to pay $500 extra per car to have better materials/plastics. But the money was spent where it should be. Questionable mitsubishi reliability, and don't like the ricers who want to race or follow me. Most evo drivers nod to each other at the least. And higher turbo/4wd maint costs but I knew this going in.

dude all the appropriate answers are the ones you said you didn't want....it does depend on your needs and what you want out of the car. also, just for your info, bolting on a twin turbo setup on the G35 is not all that easy. You have to buy all new internals also because the compression is not right for forced induction. Why don't you try doing some RESEARCH, and then make the decision for yourself. That is the ONLY way you will truly be happy with your purchase. BTW, don't be scared to test drive. I drove A LOT of cars before I made my decision.

oh yeah, in case you decide to get the G35, I would wait a little while...rumor on my350z.com is that nissan plans to drop 4.0 v6's to replace all the 3.5's in 2005. Something to think about

Have you driven the Evo? It's a raw driver's car. the G is a nice luxury quiet ride. I have been in the G and it's very nice. But they really don't compare in price. The G wit extras which everyone gets will run 36, then tax, docs, fees. It's thousands more than the Evo as you said.

The Evo is not my daily driver and I will admit, if i had to drive it everyday, traffic, i would choose the G over the Evo even though I love the Evo and it handles better and is slightly faster stock.

You have to ask yourself, am I planning any mods for the near future on either car. There's not much for the G except a exhaust and intake, springs. If you plan to keep your car stock, go for the G. If you like modding, you will love the Evo as it responds to mods well and is affordable to do. Also, do you need 4 doors and can you live with a coupe where people have to climb in every time. another thing, can you live with the attention the Evo brings. I always get looks and messed with on the road because the car tells people i am ready for a race. The G is a "grown up's" car and is just admired my most and blends in well. There are many here in my city. Another thing, do you drive alone alot because when i load up my Evo, it's weighted down and noticably slower due to the 2.0 liter engine. I'd rather have more displacement with the 3.5 if I taxied people around. If you're worried about 0-60 times, they are close and it should not affect your decision. Good luck.

yea I'm aware of the 2005 rumor on G35.. but I've never heard that 3.5 engine rumor.. The rumors I heard were about the new interior just like the one in new Altima. But then I just concluded that those were rumors.. Nissan has usually been producing same vehicle for at least 4 years so.. a dramatic change after 2 yrs of production doesnt sound really right.. and I personally like the current G35 coupe interior too

There will be leather for 2004, so you could get the EVO, and a bit of "luxury"
