Got a flat tire

So I have a 2008 ford escape and the rear tire got a nail close to the edge of the tire so shops do not want to patch it. My question is since the car is front bias and rears only turn on when traction loss is detected, would I be ok just replacing one tire or maybe even 2 rear ones instead of all 4? Yes I'm being a cheap *** but the tires have alot of thread left.

Find a different shop ask them to plug and then patch it on the inside.
