2014 Ford Fiesta ST project
maybe a dumb question, but how are you getting a controlled E30 or E45 mix? Are you just premixing into a fuel container or just filling up at two pumps while being careful about how much you pump? just something I've always wondered from others who run less than E85.
anyways, cool progress. perpetually tempted.

No blender pumps here so yes, I'm doing loose math at the pump and making sure I'm not tuning to the ragged edge.
The MED ecu in the Fiesta ST works really well with this method as it has a very sophisticated way of doing dynamic ignition timing. However, any body that has had a good amount of time tuning Ethanol knows not to rely on knock sensors so I'm trying to make sure the ignition timing ceiling is not too high.

Last two tanks of 91 octane before switching to Ethanol mix and tuning for it as well.
91 oct - Jul 20, 2014
270 miles - 25.06 mpg
91 oct - Jul 22, 2014
105 miles - 26.24 mpg
------------------
E30 - Jul 27, 2014
236 miles - 24.33 mpg
E45 - Jul 31, 2014
263 miles - 24.44 mpg
So far, if I take the average of the two 91 octane data points and subtract the current E45 data point, it's just a -1.21 MPG difference. Of course I need more E45 data points to really make this valid but it gives us a look.
As you can see, I'm obviously tuning the Ethanol mix for better mileage overall then if I didn't tune with that in mind, hence the E45 having even slightly better MPG than E30. I still think I can get the Ethanol mix tune VERY close to normal gas. The ECU and Ecoboost motor gives me enough control to really make some gains there.

Ok, I think it's time to upgrade the FMIC.
4th gear WOT into 5th. Over 20* increase, even with a whole lot of air hitting it at those speeds. Yikes.
Currently looking at Airtec or ATP.

cool car. I could see myself playing with something new like this. I drove an 89 mirage turbo for like 5 years. absolutely loved that car. FWD is a different kind of fun. but definitely fun.
If you are still looking for an intercooler, let me know.

Ok, spent all day installing stuff today. Wilwood brake kit and the Bilstein coilovers.
I can't drive the car yet because I need to set the ride heights and bleed the brakes still. The Wilwood calipers have the smallest and cutest little bleed screws I have ever seen, they are almost half the size of a 9mm wrench so I need to go buy a new wrench for that and the Bilstein coilovers where set low as hell out of the box. The pictures below are even with me turning up the fronts about 3 turns from factory before installing too.
The car as it sits in the photos is 2" lower in the front and about 1" lower in the rear. Going to raise the front obviously. Over all the installs went smooth, I just took my time.
Wilwood GT rotors vs. Stock Fiesta ST rotors:

DP6 caliper:

Cute lil' bleeder screws:

Bilsteins and Wilwood BBK:

Looks like lots of room if I wanted to down to 16" wheels:

Way too low in front:
