Japanese to German

This last week I had an opportunity to sell my evo 8 for a very very fair price. That being said my wife and I have been really considering having a child before too much longer and we had to account for that as well. With the numbers all drawn up and needing something a little more family friendly we decided to sell my evo. My 2005 evo 8 had 60,000 original miles and moderate bolts ons making 360 who and 320 tq. I was approached with a check for $20,000 and accepted it. With the evo gone we had to look for a car that met all the needs of a family while maintaining some sportiness and of course modability. We settled on a 2015 Volkswagen GTI autobahn edition. I know it might not be for everyone but I think we found the perfect blend of sport, luxury, and comfort. I miss the evo and WILL own another one down the road, but this was the right decision at this point in time. Thanks to everyone on the forums for helping me out these last 3 years. I will still be active on the site. Here is some pictures of the old and new.

Congrats on your car(my personal negative opinion aside). You should've considered Audi S3 sedan, I think its the most evo-like car you can get from German brands and GTI is kinda bland to me. Anyway take care and have the best time you can with your new car

Nice, the new GTIs look great and I loved how solid they feel. I was considering getting one but got the BMW 320i instead for the space since my son was just born at the time.

Sold my last X for a 2013 GTI and I survived for 7 months. I hated that car with a passion, and traded it for a 2013 X. It looked good on paper, but fell down horribly in execution as anything sporting. I know the MkVII is a tiny bit better, but FWD + boost doesn't work with mods. I hope you love it and it fits your needs better than it did mine.

Wrong Daimler. Daimler AG owns many companies including Mercedes Benz.

This is the Daimler you are talking about.

Back in 2006-2007 ish Daimler AG, Dropped their 10% of Mitsubishi. I believe they separated from Chrysler as well now. Surpsringly Benz quality has also gone up,lol
