I'd pick one up honestly....It's incredible nothing is overhyped about it.
Only down side is if you want more than 550 you're spending 8k+ on basic mods.

I guess one of the biggest factors is my willingness/unwillingness to learn a new platform.

I've been into DSM's for almost 6 years now but its starting to grow old.

Ive been looking to make the Evo jump, or possibly a turbo v8 in a random chassis but fear of the unknown is whats holding me back.

I would imagine the learning curve from 1992 Dsm to 2010 GTR would be quite extensive

Lol not here.

I m like knowing a platform like the back of my hand, plus with the amount of spare dsm parts in my garage it would be hard pressed up pick up and move on.

Guess ill start weighing my options here soon

Youd be in for a real eye opener first time you have to remove the trans on the Evo compared to a DSM. My old talon, trans out and back in in about 2hrs. Evo is more like 6-7 once you get good at it. My first was 12h figuring things out and breaking all that Loctite loose.

Iam also from the dsm world and have to agree I did my first evo ix clutch job about a week ago... It took a lot more time roughly 24hrs..

I was weighing the gtr option and I can't see going wrong with the purchase but when it comes to cash I belive the ix would benefit more from an additional 10k to 20k then a gtr.

That's when I expect to get into one, the price is falling quickly especially considering the new ones are substantially cheaper than the old ones used to sell for.
