2017 Ford Fusion Sport
2017 Ford Fusion Sport
Anyone take a look at these? They look good on paper:
2.7L TT V6 - 325hp/380tq (same motor in ecoboost F150/others)
AWD
< $35k
A bit more 'mature' appearance
I have a modified X as a fun car and a very aged Lexus ES300 for a daily driver. I'm considering a new DD and this looked interesting. Not available in a manual, but ok for DD. The are at a few dealerships already.
Anyone check one out yet?

I could just imagine if FORD put the new 10 speed auto in this car. So far looks like the six speed. auto. Getting to old to row anymore. Twin turbo 2.7 L V-6 cars have been on my radar for awhile. This would be a good sleeper.
Not sure I follow. I assume you are talking the base Impreza at half the price? At 148hp/145tq with econo features and interior, it's not even in the same zipcode - not that a Fusion is all of that. Is it just the cost that you think makes a better DD?
I'm looking for a more mature DD that still has some of the spirit of the X. I think a WRX could fit the bill, but not a base Impreza. Even then, the 2.7T V6 sounds intriguing....
Thanks for all of the feedback though!

When I think DD, I think affordable (both to buy and insure) with good gas mileage. Take a look at the new Impreza interior. Don't write it off just because it has a lower price tag.
If you really want upscale awd, go Audi.

Good points and I'll take a look.
Many of my colleagues did the Audi thing a few years back. They were constantly in the service shop for little annoying things, but all fixes started at $300 - defective wipers, sticking windows, etc. These were a few years old so past their warranties. Perhaps these have been corrected.
Thanks again for the feedback.

Affordable means different things to different people... I wouldn't buy a base impreza, or anything Subaru for that matter. Their current line up is a bunch of ugly cars. Even an Audi A3 will be a solid few thousand more than an optioned out Fusion sport..
It's the same transimission as in the SHO (6F55) and there are many running 100+ whp/tq on the stock trans no problem. One guy is putting down 600+ to the wheels on stock trans. I suspect the Fusion Sport to be plenty strong form mild-mid upgrades without a problem.
