Tom, your exactly right about the MazdaSpeed's engine. What I think is frickin hilarious is, the SRT barely pulls faster than the MS on the track SCC tested them on. That in itself speals volumes about how well sorted the MS is.

Air Intake for a SRT-4
Hailz!
I just bought a SRT-4 for my wife. I am liking it alot.
Where can I find a GOOD air intake system/part/brand/etc. for this particular car?
All I know is a K&N Filter REPLACEMENT is about 40 bucks.. but what can I get that is better?
The 2.4 Liter Turbo is listed at only 215 HP but every test shows more like 235 HP... stock... I want to do some EASY... BOLT-ON Mods. Any Suggestions?
Thanks!

Here is a link telling of the sti against a 99 cobra.
http://forums.clubsi.com/showflat.ph...b=5&o=&fpart=1
No video but this is what they said.
"My friend came down with his stock 99 Cobra. We took it to carlsbad. One his first run he lined up against a brand new WRX STi.. The STi ran a 13.3 and my friend ran a 15.7 @ 89!!
After that, the STi ran 13.3's all day and the best my friend could do was low 14's at 100-103mph. His 60fts were like 2.4 everytime.
He had a problem with his tires or something.. they were worn as ****. When he'd shift into 2nd gear his car would fishtail.. He said he had to let off the throttle to keep from losing control. He was dissapointed cause he wanted to see 13's at least.. but he felt a little better cause their were two stock ellis's running the exact same times as him
The STi cut a 1.8 60ft when he ran against my friend.. I forget what the trap speed was. That car was so ****ing awesome.
I heart the STi.. it was so sweet. BBS wheels, massive brembos, sparco seats.. everything about this car was freakin amazing. I bet it could run faster.. the guy driving the car said he didnt own it and I heard he was testing it for a magazine. I think the STi could hit lower 13's.. possibly even high 12's stock"

EVO = $30,000 MSRP
SRT-4 = $20,000 MSRP
Put Remainder 10,000 into SRT-4 and you will compete with the
Viper GT-S, Supra TT, Vett Z06, WS6........ forget about the little overpriced EVO... yea thats nice 13.8 1/4 just amagine how powerful the srt-4 could be with the remainder 10k saved for mods

i dont know if you guys went and finished reading that thread, but almost all of the people who sounded like they knew anything close to what they were talking about were telling the guy to STFU.
From that post, i gathered a resounding "The SRT-4 is an amazing car, especially for the price. The Evo is still better, its a farkin evo."
Yeah the first post was but go read the rest of it. The guys at that board sound like they have it pretty in control as far as car bashing/inflating goes.
Well, except for one fellow who read tire widths as HP ratings and got down right confused
