Since it is coming from the BMW Z4 platform I'm not ecstatic about it. I would agree that a decently priced LFA version would be a better car. From the first 2 videos it looks to much like a retro BMW Z4.

I wish they would quit with the high-end pricing and concentrate on making affordable power. If they took an FT-86 and put a turbo inline 6 in it I'm sure it could be mass produced cheaply and would quickly become a well respected street car! Bring back the era of the cheap cars that can become beasts with few mods!

+1. There isn't much out there any longer that is "affordable" and a sports car. Especially anything new is $50k+. The closest thing is a Focus RS and it's still around $45k. I guess that is why we you so many Mustangs running around.

lets face it, turbo inline 6 in an 86 is a 2JZ fanboi pipe dream, never gonna happen. the more realistic solution would be to put in the WRX engine with a slightly reworked turbo/plumbing/intercooler setup. although I really doubt this is ever gonna happen either.

With all the engine swaps happening for the 86, I'm surprised nobody has done a WRX engine in the aftermarket

Pretty much any car gets better with a LSX swap http://www.vorshlag.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8275

hard to argue with an LSX from a power/weight/size ratio point of view
