Exactly. I love my Evo, but their is a reason I went away from daily driving it. They're very unrefined in the comfort/NVH department, even in stock or mostly stock form.

Remember, all initial CTR's come stock with navigation, 12 speaker audio, etc. http://www.hondanews.com/channels/ho...ype-r-interior
Supposedly 2018 will bring the option to order a base model without all the options.

It's all about compromises, isn't it?
There are Focus RSs all over Nashville right now, each dealer has like 2. They still won't budge on their $42k sticker prices. The appeal of the RS to me is that it is the best looking exterior of all the cars I compare it to: RS, Golf R, Type R, my X, etc. But I think as time has gone on, the head gasket + engine failures and lack of reliable engine modification potential compared to the X and the R + price makes it a nonstarter for me.
I compared it yesterday side by side to the Golf R, and I think the R is the car I would love to be in now at my age. It's just such a great DD, and I could care less if it's a track monster like the RS, Type R, or X because I don't remotely use that side of it. I appreciate a tingly handling car a whole lot, and the Golf R has none of that. I leaned really hard on the one I drove yesterday, and it pushed like a dump truck. But as a quality driver, it fits me the best. My X is now paid off, and I could get a new R with a baby loan of like $7k, pay it off in a few months. I ran this by the wife, and she threw up every roadblock possible, saying I would regret it, this is my 5th Evo, yada yada yada, so I won't be getting one now for awhile.
On topic, I like the CTR's lightness, but dude. The crazy loud styling, the red seats, the dash... I'm 20 years too old for that thing. I still would love to drive one.
Nemsin's utter hatred of the RS is still funny.

If it came to buying a new turbo sporty sedan/hatch car for a daily, the only decision would be, do I want the manual, or the DCT in my white Golf R...lol. For daily use, you can not beat the interior quality and NVH levels of the Golf R at the price point. If it needs better suspension, the aftermarket is there for a reason. It would likely get a set of ohlins.
