Covid and your Car

Tell us how the virus has impacted your driving

For me, I've never seen this few cars on the road in the neighbourhood
i don't feel like going for a run to my favourite cafe for an early morning coffee so I'm just vacuuming out the family cars and doing a general tidy up of the man cave.

Not sure where you’re from but I’m in Southern California and people are still on the road. Albeit probably not as much as normal. But still.

as for me, I’ve been practicing social distancing by hitting the canyons every now and then. Hate being stuck at home.

SARS-CoV-2 saved me from making a big mistake with a Tesla Model 3 Performance. Gas is cheap, and the Type R is mostly in the garage these days. It's a sneeze from being paid off, and I'll probably just keep it.

Lockdown here in Malaysia, so not much driving! Only going around the block to warm and boost it up a bit for like 10 mins drive. Luckily my area is a bit on the outskirts so not many police and can still reach reasonable high speeds on a 3 lane main road.

It caused us no driving at all. But come to think of it, since there's like 80% less driving globally, the earth gets to breathe fresh air. Honestly, I don't mind it at all. I get to rest from all the stress. Healthier me.

I bought an evo right before this all happened and it has been sitting for the most part. Pretty sad.

That's sad! Don't you need to breakin your new car?

This covid thing really took a lot from us, taking lives literally and figuratively.

It's a great time for a build if someone already has all the parts they need. They now have all the time in the world.

It helps to keep busy and have a solid schedule to follow each day. I read a useful post somewhere from a retired submariner. He said that when you are stuck in a confined space (aka our homes) for a long time, it helps to bring your world closer to you. You want to take care of your health, but also your mentality. Take care of your work, chores, house upkeep, and health in the first half of the day, then use the second half of the day to watch movies, read/ write, play an instrument, games, and entertain yourself. Having a healthy body, good habits, and a solid diet doesn't mean that you are happy or that you won't go insane.

I live in a town filled with a lot of retirement age people and driving around it looks like business as usual. You would never guess there was anything happening. The Lowe's in my town is also absolutely slammed, all day long, every day.

I've been doing little things to it to stay busy like reflashing the stock tune back on it, oil change, headlight restoration, front bumper alignment, tire rotation, new front door speakers, new intake all in a month's time. I'm not going crazy. Definitely not bored and crazy..

I like this. This pandemic is also showing us how much we took for granted before all of this happened. Maybe people will value socializing face to face a little more after this is over instead of staring at their phones all day.
