EVO's bad rep.

Disclaimer: This is not a street race nor any kind of challenge. I love EVO's and have been a member here for a long time, that being said I wanted to share this...

So I'm coming home last night in my modded chevy cobalt ss supercharged (yes the slow one) and a EVO X passes me on the highway just before my turn. He cuts across traffic in front of me to turn off with me (I'm several cars behind). He takes the turn real fast onto the two lane road so I spot my chance, I punch it around the corner and as I do he goes wide open on the straight. He does not pull me at all, this really peaked my interest because everyone loves a good race and I knew this would have been close. Instead of lining up however, this person that I will reframe from using colorful medaphors for, speeds up to 85+ as the road narrows to one lane and then passes multiple cars over a double yellow line while in corners (long sweeping turns and trees on both sides). He must have passed atleast 8 cars and I chose not to follow because well that's just stupid...

Once again, people like this raise the insurance for all of us that enjoy "spirited" driving... I like EVO's alot and I'm not trying to start anything. Just incase that individual is on here... Enjoy your life man cause if you keep driving like that, your driving excitement will be short lived, I just pray you don't take anyone else with you due to your stupidity...

Thanks all.

I've never seen someone in an Evo do that...they are too rare around here. I've seen pretty much every other kind of sports car or sports bike with someone driving stupid. Nothing new here.

The point of this thread was? You can insert random ____ car and it has happened. I'm sure 99% of the drivers on here wouldn't pull a stunt like that.

fun

Maybe he had a page from Braga and had to meet at a large warehouse. Then he had to load his car on a tractor/trailer and head to Mexico where he hauled some illegal stuff through some underground tunnels back into the U.S. with some other racers. I'm just say'N???

I'm not at all sayin that nobody else driving different cars doesn't do that... I'm simply pointing it out...

Was a gray EVO X at 54 and Starkey, I'm assuming he lives in the greater Tampa Bay area...

I hope he made it home alive to be honest...

It's the driver, not the car.

always a couple of bad apples in the batch....in evo owners, there are plenty of them.

The truth of the matter is that while there are plenty of 'mature car enthuasist' that enjoy the love of these machines and other performance machines, evos/sti's tend to attract the younger "my mommy bought this car for me" crowd. I see way too many teens driving these bad boys around these days..

Summary: "I raced a X on the street but Evo drivers are bad because they're slightly stupider than I am"

Of course, I may be biased because "I will reframe from using colorful medaphors" may be the most unintentionally funny sentences I've read in awhile.

The evo is far more car than the older cobalt in the real world handling and, unless you have driven one, wouldn't realize that it is the kind of car you can drive at 98 percent all the time. It's hard to catch that.

Should you drive like a lunatic a-hole all the time? No, but that is how my evo made me drive and one of the main reasons right underneath operating costs as for why I no longer own one.

It's a Jekyll and Hyde car. It will make you drive like an *** and you become very impatient with people who are going less than 90 mph.

Lol, a g37 coupe did the same type of driving also when he saw me coming up in my Evo behind him. If anything, I'd say the "fast" rep of the Evo makes people in other cars drive reckless when they finally see one they feel like it's, "their chance" to prove their car against it like you said even said.
