Exactly. Launch control, traction control, A/T, and 500+ whp = easy button.

Then the same applies with the Lancer.

Toyota can keep their three cylinder. I'd take a Type R over that any day.

I mean if we're being honestly the airport grade Yaris and Corolla are upgrades from any Lancer save the fast bits of an Evo... what I was replying to was Kaj said he'd buy the GR Yaris if they brought it here, but if they give the same treatment to a Corolla he's not interested since its too airport grade for him...

who cares if its a 3 cyl? its making the power to the wheels that Toyota says its making at the crank... its picking up healthy power with simple bolt ons, HKS already has one with over 400whp in Japan so its not a fragile engine... only downside is it plays fake engine noises through the speakers.

I think the 3 cylinders sound pretty good by themselves. Some like the sound pumping and some don't. Heck today just make it a flavored button push. Just up to Toyota if they can get a market here. Will be a fun little car!

Slapping a TRD package on a Corolla is not the same, it has to have racing bones.

The Yaris will probably be another JDM Evo / USDM Lancer OZ situation.

Toyota explains that the GR Yaris is built on the global Yaris not the Mazda 2 that is sold as a Yaris in the states as the reason the GR Yaris is not coming here. Then, they go on to explain that the GR Yaris has practically nothing in common with the global Yaris either. So, like the Supra having no manual, some decision maker in a tall building didn't check that box.

The Yaris cuz it's AWD and I just cannot stand the look of the R! Not that the Yaris looks great either but at least still bearable than the R.

if they give it the engine, awd system, and the brakes, that should do the trick. as long as they don't WRXify it by giving it ****tier versions of all those things, it should be fine. I mean not as good as the GR Yaris since its bigger and heavier, but it should still be an entertaining car.

but the interior on the CTR is substantially better... Yaris is full on rental car spec interior down to the 90's style gauges. then there's also the super high sitting position that everyone complains about in the GR. That being said for me its GR Yaris all day everyday.

I love the CTR and it's history. I wanted an EK version sooooo bad. The new one is a great car, just not what the EK was. For me, that's a turn off. I still do greatly appreciate the CTR, though and would like one, but it's way down on my "what to buy next" list. The GR Yaris, though? I don't think I could pass it up. Sounds too fun.
Kinda like a Ford Fiesta ST but AWD. I know, not really, but I really liked those things.

I am not so particular on interior. If I can live with the CT9A interior so the Yaris interior should be more than good enough! Lol
