Wanted to share some GTR ecu tuning work i had to do a while back. This customers car as it’s a pretty cool R34 (imo) thought you guys might like to see how it evolved through the years from RB26 to RB28 to RB30. (Owner of the car is committed to that RB sound which i honestly can't blame him for.)
-RB26 tomei twins was the original engine it tuned and he ran then sold off.
-next up was the RB28 2.75L tomei stroker custom Cp pistons new oem block (stock bore).
93ron/mon 31psi was able to squeeze out 722whp according to virtual dyno. (Sea level nice cool night air).
VE wide band knock kit, NGK bkr8eix spark plugs gapped to .7mm, R35 coils, Plug in GTR RB26 ECU package and PRP trigger kit made for a great setup for me to tune. (i would love to add exhaust back pressure, turbo shaft speed and EGT's for each runner but the owner of the car didn't quite understand just how helpful all those extra inputs can really be. (happy to have fuel pressure, oil pressure and wideband i guess haha)

-Most recent build is a forged RB30, RB26 head and single precision 6870 turbo (owner sold his rb28) went out for the ecu setup and retune on this late 2022. Sense I see the customer also posted for sale but the prices in Korea for these are even higher than the states… I have a hunch he is planning to hold onto the car for a while still based on that price.
R34 GTR 1999 for sale As of dec. 2025 car is still running strong on this setup with same owner.

This particular dyno could not produce nearly enough load for this car so there was a ton of logging/driving pre and post dyno. Very fun car to say the least.

funny enough this customer sold the complete package (engine/trans/harness/ecu/fuel system) to another r34 in Korea and as soon as travel opens back up for Korea I’ll go out and tune a NZ rb30 engine package for him.

Sorry what do you mean exactly?
Maybe i can explain the story better to help shed some light on everything?

The 2.8L RB i setup and tuned for the owner of the midnight purple R34 was sold (engine/harness/sensors/ECU aka complete turn key package) to another R34 owner in Korea. That R34 was then sold for $Xxx,xxx which is mind numbing to me but i guess the Koreans were happy to pay top $$ for a well built high power R34 GTR.
The midnight purple R34 now has an RB30 build just waiting to go in as soon as travel opens back up and i can get back to Korea to tune the new RB30 build on a big single precision turbo. New build is targeting over 800WHP on Korean pump gasoline, no ethanol, e85 or water meth. (their fuel runs very similar to east coast 93 ron/mon gasoline).

Shoot forgot to update this one after the latest rb30 setup and retune. The owner also posted it for sale but based in his price I don’t think he’s very interested to sell it haha.

First of all damn the car is maybe the perfect street car power delivery and made 802hp. New rb30 and ported head do wonders to get the big precision turbo moving. Unfortunately the dyno the customer rented was terrible so I’d like to see clean runs on a proper dyno for real numbers. 95% of the tuning had to be done driving the car as you’ll see the dyno couldn’t produce anywhere near enough load.
