Subaru just killed the STi
but I meant the 4x4 version not the AWD evo'sEverywhere but America lol, the 5th gen paj is pretty badass. It's watered down like typical modern mitsus are but still pretty cool for a modern 4x4.
Yep I would definitely consider a new 4x4 triton if we got them in the states. I have a mighty max right now and a gen 1 montero and wouldn't mind updating the mighty max to a new truck to haul my bikes around.
I'm glad Mitsubishi is selling more vehicles. What I meant specifically was lifestyle vehicles that leverage their off-road legacy.
hey razorlab, i said the evo x is equal or better than previous lancer evolution. yes, its proven iits performance time and again.
what i was replying on this post was to agree on what kyoo and delylag comments about subaru not wanting to replace the ej25 on the wrx sti. As deylag mentioned - now that they killed the ICE STI the only ICE the STI will ever be known for is EJ25.
i am just comparing the parallelism of these two cars.
lancer evo 1-9 has the 4G63T
wrx sti has the EJ25 eversince
lancer evo replace with improved 4B11T...and mitsubishi stop further engine development there.
wrx sti supposed plan to have the improved fa24, but subaru cut the chord on it right away without it being implanted on the next gen wrx sti so no more further engine development on it as well.
i agree with biggiesack, (learned new perspective) when he mention same parent same dna. built for the same reasons, with the same fundamentals.
I guess what i wanted to say is the lancer evo will be "remembered mostly" for the 4G63T for the same reason the wrx sti will be remembered for the EJ25. and the Supra for the 2JZ..oops..sorry biggiesacks i mentioned the Supra..lol...

One of the dumber responses here. That is like saying each new model of the M3 is no longer a M3 because it has a different engine than the previous.
Weird, almost like the name "Evolution" means something... Seriously, how about you just say that word out loud a couple times until it sinks in for you.
These types of statements are so stupid now. The Evo 10 has been proven a billion times at this point.

The evo 10 may have proven itself on the track but its alot less special because it lacks the heritage that should make it an Evolution. That's why people are paying almost 2-3 times more mile for mile for these 20 year old+ jap cars when compared to new.

It isn't, most of these new generations of cars don't deserve name. Im not saying they're not "worthy" its just they're too far off the original idea. Names do mean something to car enthusiasts. its called marketing. They will use the evolution/supra/gtr name to garnish more sales even if its a completely different car. Its purely corporate trying to boost sales.

Homologation ended with Group A. From the wiki:
"Unlike the requirements for the preceding Group A cars, manufacturers were no longer required to build "homologation specials" in order to meet approval."
