LSD stands for limited slip differential...4AG is the twin cam 1.6 motor that was standard on the GTS model.

The AE86 (Trueno or Hachi Rouku) have cult status in Japan...just like the Skyline, EVO, Silvia, etc...

AE86 GTS hatchback or notchback (trunk) yes.

FX-16 no...the FX-16 is the front wheel drive hatchback...stay away from these!

try that 4ag forum. i doubt u'll have a better source for AE's than that forum.

look into spending 2-3k for one in good condition.

well, the normal swaps for the hachi roku are to transplant a newer 4age into it. the 4age 20 valve 1.6 with vvt-i from the early 90's corollas can swap in with minimal work. needs a different tranny and i think a couple of the mounts are different, but otherwise it should be almost direct drop. the 4ag engines after 1987 were all FWD, so the need the tranny out of a pre 87 hachi roku.

sorry, didn't click next page... it was a comment reguarding the types of corollas

as for the engine swaps... the craziest swap i've seen so far is an S2000 motor in an 86... don't know how he did it, but it's pretty bad-a$$...

A guy at my school has an AE86 "notchback". It's a pretty bad *** little car, he drifts the hell out of that thing. He just made his own custom vented hood for it and it looks really sweet. His engine is about to go too, I'll try to ask him what he's planning on doing with it.

By the way I don't think the guy I know has a GTS, I think he has the slower engine. But I'll ask him anyway.
