Well the word is, my uncle in Japan bought one of these. He traded in this old Toyota mid-range engine van for it. It's an interesting car..intial impressions is that it totally looks like an Audi TT from the side. Although the engine is only a 660cc engine (yes, it's a Japanese Kei class car) it looks like a fun car to drive. It's a light, convertible 2 seater.

After further investigation of this funny vehicle, i found out that it has a mechanical hardtop, meaning it folds into the trunk space. This only takes 20 seconds..I thought things like this were only reserved for Mercedes' CLK and other cars. Oh btw, this car is about $16-$17,000 Crazy. After even more investigation, I came to the realization that this car is turbo'd. With it's measly 64 hp and 73 ft/lbs of torque, I was under the impression that it's a slow *** car. Well not that it's not, but being a light car, the reviews I've read have said that this car is a blast to drive and you can even track it..hm.

So what do you guys think of this car? I myself can't wait til I see this car in person! Although I'm wondering now how he's going to fit his golf bag in that car with no trunk space..

i woudn't be caught dead in a car with under 100 horses. my tempo broke 80 I think , and that was way too low for me

 

Too slow. I have driven dozens of Swifts (I work for Suzuki), and don't get me wrong, they're nice cars, but I couldn't drive one. Hell, when I go from my Evo to a civic, I'm foot to the floor almost the entire time.

 

ok i found out how much it weighs. it weighs 1764 lbs. this thing has more power to weight ratio than the lancer. weeee.

and the engine on this thing makes approx 106.68 hp per liter where as the usdm lancer makes 60 hp per liter if you look at it that way this is a pretty quick car..

 

i drove a daihatsu once, it was called a Feroza i think, what a POS.

yea all daihatsu sells is Kei cars. meaning they are under 660cc's. That's their market. This car is the only car i have some respect for..i would never drive their other cars tho.

 

The Copen is turbocharged. Hardly a fair comparison.

 

im just comparing the car to another car..im relating it to the lancer so u guys know how it compares to it.

 

I was just referring to the power per liter...

 

ok, so if i took away the rolleyes, it would be all good right. but the lancer's power per liter is still "rolleye-able" even by itself.

We have a guy here with one, SSQ BOV, front mount, and SAFC.. And it drills my Lancer when she comes on boost.. these are awesome lil cars, and if i had the money, i'd be pimping one..
