I don't think the R32 will win in anything against any of these evos, except for the interior built quality and better paint. Then again who buys these car for the interior

VW R32,

and let's try it with the 04 Evo (non RS)

that way they should have some comparison with interior comforts and options also.

Hmmm...based on your screen name, I thought you had a movie of a race between the two.

If I wanted more creature comforts (read: more luxury) than the EVO has, I'd definitely get an R32. However, I'm happy with the simplicity of the EVO.

EVO definitely blows it away in performance. Chicks might be more comfortable in an R32, but I don't buy a car to get chicks, so that doesn't really matter to me.

The EVO is more mature because it is a four-door sedan, but less mature because it has the big wing and is basically a souped-up econobox.

The R32 is more refined (mature) from a luxury standpoint, but less mature because it has the "breadbox van/econobox" look to it (kind of like an old-school civic hatchback).

EVO wins every time. Have a snobby girlfriend? If ya love her, go with the R32 so you can avoid the migraines.

Honestly when it comes to performance it really is no contest, the EVO accelerates much quicker, handles better, stops better, is faster (higher top speed), just all around a better performance car. When it comes to modifying, well as most of you owners of EVOs know, the EVO has proven to respond very well to aftermarket modifications. The R32 may have a nicer interior, but it's not like the EVO is just unberable to live with, and besides if it was just about the interior then I would want to get a RX-8 or an Infiniti G35 or a BMW 325.

German interiors are always superior to Japanese interiors.

Let's not forget that practically every VW comes with "unreliablity" as standard equipment. Expect littles glitches such as burned headlights, fried power locks, and stuck sunroofs, to large issues such has engine misfire, MAF errors, and tempermental O2 sensors. My friends' Beetles and Golfs have stalled and died many times on the road. That's in addition to the numerous $200 repairs of knobs, latches, switches, cup holders, etc., within the first two years of ownership. Seriously, when was the last time you saw a VW on the road with EVERY light working?

3000ways is absolutely right. If you want performance? get an Evo. Style? RX-8. Luxury? BMW or Audi. VW R32 has talents, but can't succeed in anything.

^ why get a sunroof on a racing car anyway? That adds about 400 extra lb.

Dr. Fob, My BFs GTi hasn't presented nearly any of these problems. The only ones i can think of is his bolts on his turbos needings to be replaced... But most of the things that happen to his car are his fault because he mods it, or doesn't have enough money to fix his exhaust which I have no idea exactly what happened with his exhaust...

I can put down Evo's if you'd like. But seeing as this is an "EVO FORUM" I'll refrain from pissing many peoples off.

The R32 looks baller, but I'd rather have a GTi. But VW has stopped producing those so you can just go and get a used one for a decent price.

I'd rather have a mercedes benz interior or a porsche one than any other car. ever.

And, on a much smaller scale, VWs are much more comfortable IMHO. I enjoy going on long trips in my bf's car over mine because his seats are much more agreeable with my back.

it's ok, this is my thread so feel free to talk about the defects of the evo. Besides, it's just being honest.

What about reliability issues? Why are Mitsu dealers so **** about warranties if the car was reliable in the first place?
