Unhappy Maxima 04?

After totaling my Evo, my wife doesn't want me to get the same car cauz she thinks i'll kill myself. She has a point in some sort of degree in that we also have a 2and a half year old son. I wouldn't budge at all because i don't think i will love another car besides the EVO. i'm sure alot of you guys on the forum feel the same way. but anyway the maxima is the only one i like for a fast family car that she loves. the car is fully fully loaded. black exterior and a really cool burnt orange leather. what do you guys think of this car?

not a bad choice, but why not look at the G35 too... i think the coupe is better looking, but you obviously need the 4 doors...

don't look at the Passat... it's boring as hell to drive...

You don't like the V6 6-speed Accord...? better interior, fit and finsih and resale than the Maxima...

i actually never looked at the accord. i just seemed the maxima felt a little more sexy and and options were out of this world especially the cool a** sunroof. but i'll check out the accord.

If you want a performance family sedan (I am sorry, but the EVO and STI are NOT family sedans) the Infinit G35, the new Subaru Legacy, Lexus IS300, BMW 5xx, and Volvo S60 are your best bets. The new Volvo S60-R AWD is a really hot car, there is someone autocrossing one in the area and the car just looks hot.

I think the S60 starts around 27000 (less power, FWD), but can get up to around 42000 if you get the S60-R (more power, AWD) with many options.

as far as me saying the evo is a family sedan, i thought i was still convincing my wife the first time we bought the evo. "yeah honey 4 doors awd spacious trunk" she fell for it.

The new SAAB wagon is just a WRX with a different skin on it. The new 93 sport sedan is pretty nice looking, but I saw a 95 sedan last night and it looks really weird, the back end has a lot of weird angles.

A co-worker just bought the Accord 4-cylinder 5-speed sedan and loves it, but then again he is moving up from a 1992 Mazda 626.

Sorry to hear that you have to give up the EVO. I've driven the 04 Maxima and it is a great car. The 3.5 V-6 is a torque monster even with an automatic. I use to own a 02 3.5 Altima Automatic and ran 14.20's with severe wheel spin at the drag strip. The only issue is that both cars are front wheel drive. The G35, I think would be a better choice because you get rear wheel drive along with that great V-6.
