Looks like
will be getting rid of the Diamante and Montero Sport as of this year (effectively the 2004 will be the last model). Then, at the end of the 2006 model year the Montero will also disappear form the U.S. (i.e. we will not get the next gen Montero...

Hate to say it, but I saw the Diamante's demise coming. I don't think luxury when I think Mitsubishi, and the Diamante just doesn't cut it with the current definition of luxury. Considering the TL, 3-Series, C-Class, and A4 (which has a fan-TAStic interior) are considered entry-level, the Diamante doesn't even appear on the radar. Had no real power either.

i liked the diamante. 210hp, nice styling. but the backseat was tiny, the roof was too low in the back and the Gallant is larger. Your right, no one thinks luxury when they think Mitsu.
the Montero Sport is a pig, very slow. the Endeavor is so much nicer. Maybe if they bring it back as the Shogun it will sell better.
